opinions on tires...current ones are Avons which has a new style tread. currently i am leaning towards putting 4" coker firestones on the front and rear. i think it would better match the style of the bike. if i had a gsxr front end and reservoir rear shocks the Avons might look better.

example:

Distored, excellent restoration/modification. I never knew a CB750 had a raised center tube for the stem structural support.

The Coker tires would probably work better with the bike.

THE DAY HAS COMETH!
i did not film the first few kicks and the official first start. this saved you from seeing me dance around the garage like a little boy that just got the best xmas gift ever when she fired up.

i have spark on all 4 and had equal temps across the pipes. before the rebuild i was dropping cylinder 1 and the pipe would stay cold. everything appears to be good so far after checking out the plugs.

did the project scope end up getting way bigger than originally anticipated and planned? Or did you envision such a large scale rebuild?

Also, IMO I like the tires you currently have on it very much. I think the blend between old and new is very complimentary.

my plan was to do this the entire time. i haven't strayed off my original plan.

there were a few unplanned purchases like new coils, misc gaskets and a few other items that i didn't plan on spending money on but did.

i am very stoked to get this one wrapped up and find my next project. if you have or know of a nice twin (cb360....etc) please let me know.

went out on the first ride today, a whopping 30 miles. engine ran great and had plenty of pull. my little shorai battery crapped on me at the gas station so i might have a drainage issue or just lost charge from sitting so long and no trickle charger on it. 2 moto sheriffs gave me a jump and i headed back to the house, but not before shooting the shit for an hour. his first words when he walked up was how much for the bike?

mods vs rockers is coming up in 2 weeks and i will be ready for that show. plan on riding this week with all the nice weather to get more break-in miles logged in. then we will venture out further and open her up.

photo shoot should happen this week and i'll post detailed shots and such. hell even i can't wait!!

quick picture before i took off today of it warming up.

i picked up my next project last month. popped up for a killer price so i jumped. i originally wanted an RD400 or RD350 but i could pass on this little 250DS7. the plan is to go back all original since the bike is already in such great shape. I still want to find a cut up 350 or 400 that i wouldn't mind modifying. AND key new Azine thread.

Looks very nice sitting in the sunlight. I bet it shines very nicely when the sun hits it directly.

Yeah, first runs are always a little worrisome. You are aware of every little sound and sensation, and through your mind you're trying to envision all the parts you put back together and what they're doing.

no lies there and if you ever put that C clip back in the piston that flew across the garage 6 months ago. luckily everything went smooth.

i ordered a shorai charger since they recommend using their specific charger for these small lithium batteries.

took runner up BEST CAFE at Mods vs Rockers this past weekend. below is the bike that won best cafe. How? i have no clue as the guy just purchased the bike. from the attention the bike received at the show i had peoples' choice hands down.

logged in about 100 miles this past weekend. developed a minor exhaust leak on the head/pipe connection on sunday and a small oil pan leak from a loose screw. all in all, no bad.

now for my final pictures.

Moto Porn

That's a bullshit call. You should have taken first. Judges must have been typical bimmer douches. I would create a poster board next to the bike to show the build process. So much more interesting.
