142 MPH Acura Ticket-Record?
Usually they write them up at a lower speed like 100, because the ability to make 142 in court seems incredible. Since this is a 2001 Acura, I'm figuring riced RSX. Any other Acura other than NSX go that fast? Quote:

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- A man driving on an interstate highway apparently needed to get somewhere fast -- really fast -- when he was clocked by troopers doing 142 mph in a 65-mph zone.
Michael Maciejewski, 24, of Litchfield, Conn., was ticketed for a traffic violation for speeding southbound in Brewster on Interstate 684 at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Sgt. Joseph Malorgio of the state police said Tuesday.
Troopers using a high-tech radar that can read license plates 1,000 feet away thought they might have a high speed chase, state police said. But the 2001 Acura pulled over as soon as the patrol car turned on its siren and flashing lights, they said.

^ and he still got 142mph on 65 regardless? I would have been gone with that speed...... fuck it... if they clocked me at that speed... they better catch me cuz I'm finding the nearest exit and I'm gone.
Depending upon NY laws, could be jail time even. I've seen cars going fast (120+) in traffic, and it is scary. He should get a great lawyer and prove the car is aerodynamically limited to a lower speed, even if it is not true.

It would take tham a while, but Im sure a TL-S or a CL-S could hit those speeds. Even a 1gCL 2.x can get close to that, but it would certainly take a while at going over 100 to get there. and the help of some downhill roads maybe. lol.
I agree with most of the above, CL-S, TL-S, RSX-S, and NSX would be the most plausible candidates for this little incident. Either way, that guy's not gonna be driving anything for a while after this.
if they did everything according to the book he woul dahve gotten arrested for wreckless endagerment and charged as a criminal and his car would be impounded. as well as a liscense suspension. i think thers is a national law that anything over like 30 MPH over the speed limit is concidered a crimnial offense. i know AZ and NY are like that just not sure what the speed is its between 20 and 40 mph over the posted speed limit
if you only knew...

If you guys wanna get all technical, it could only be a CL/CL-S, TL, RL, RSX/Type-S or an NSX. There wasn't a TL-S in 2001.
And what, no love for the SUVs? We all know a lot of SUV drivers drive like dumb asses, for all we know he could have done it in an MDX.

Holy crap, that guy is probably going to get F-ed in the A, but maybe not as bad since he stopped right away, hopefully for his sake and other driver's sake that the road was empty as hell.
I hear that in FL your almost 100% guarenteed jail once you hit 120 or double the speed limit (probably over 25 mph), but I'm not complete sure about that, and plus this happened in NY.

The cars are reading extra mileage, not speed.
