04TL w/ Charles's Modified front spoiler A-Spec.
04TL w/ Charles's Modified front spoiler A-Spec.
04TL is highly my next 4-dr sedan, loved the way it drives & exterior & interior is sweet.
Don't like the OEM front spoiler, hate the center-gap buck tooth affect.
Yall know how I love to CHOP up OEM kits, so I re-designed it. Went to dealer, analalyze front kit, very do-able.
Discussed w/ my bodyguy, I and he shall do my version of the spoiler to my specs
My version of 04-TL A-Spec, Modified front spoiler, side skirt, rear lip spoiler & 2" drop, but NO rear skirt (looks too add-on).
Warning: I am not a photoshop expert, so please no insult
Can someone goto my album page and please host the FULL size picture here.
Thx.

Stock bumper w/o lower spoiler reminds me too much of a Pontiac
Can't have that ...If an aftermaket company makes a clean, eurethane front spoiler that covers the center gap (unlike OEM kit), then no need for custom spoiler, but usually many aftermarkets are gaudy/tacky.
Since Acura's already making a kit for the TL, I doubt too many company will make kits for the TL, example - previous TLs and current TSXs has an OEM kits, so not too many company are making kits for them.
Parts needed for modded front spoiler:
1. 04' TL OEM front lower poiler.
2. 04' Honda Coupe front lower spoiler, cause the shape, angle, curvature will fit well.
Plan of attack:
The center section of the Honda spoiler will be cut and be the center section of the TL's spoiler. I wanted all fabricated parts must be eurethane. This project will be much cheaper and easier than the TL/CL kit
The 18" wheels cost about $1500 from SunnySide Acura online, but the local dealer was charging $3K, talk about gouging
Wheels are 8" wide = 245 & 255 40series tires, sweet.
OEM A-Spec springs will drop about 1-1.3", I'll wait for Eibach or H&R, I want 2-2.5" drop.
There you have, my next project. In my earlier threads regarding my search & test drives of my next 4-dr sport sedans, loved the M5, Jag S-Type R, but reliability was not what I am willing to sacrifice.
The new TL may not have the power of the sedans mentioned above, but I know it will be much more reliable, and the new TL reminds me of the Audi A6, may I even dare say it looks a little muscular like the Audi RS6.

I like your plan of attack and agree w/you on most points...as long as your happy bro, thats all that matters

BUT...try to buy the 6speed man, its going to be an awesome whip...i.e. hlsd, brembos etc....just schoool wifey in a manual a few days before getting one i.e. spend a whole weekend w/a manual rental car....tell her girls that drive stick are even more sexier lol :P
I would like to know.. why people are fixated on having aerokits?.. it does not improve the performance. Maybe some may claim it is a visual enhancer, but for me it is makes the look less smooth!
Your shit looks sick Charles!
I like it, and I just test drove the TL Saturday afternoon, it was hard not making the deal then, but I know if I wait, I'll get a better deal for myself.
