In that case why not get a snow tire?
Even if you don't expect snow, once the temperature goes below 45 degrees a snow tire will grip better than an all season tire.
Besides, snow tires are cheaper than MXM4's and if you get an H rated snow like the Nokian NRW, you'll have nice stiff sidewalls and better dry grip than the stock michelins.
I got NRW's for my brother in laws TL and he wants to run them all year round because they perform better in the SUMMER than the stock michelins.
My $0.02

hmmmmm............... that's a good argument you have there. I'm just afraid that if in case I had problems with my 19" wheels in the summertime, I can use the 17" with all-season all summer long, without the increased wear.
What do you think about the wear of the Nokian Hakkapelitta in summer? I might go dedicated winter, but still open to anyone who wants to sell your stock tires. Thanks.

The NRW would be fine in the summer. It may not 40,000 miles but I'm sure it would get 25,000.
ie. To have them on in the summer for a few weeks while you are getting your 19's fixed I wouldn't worry about it.

The stock OEM Michs suck in the snow. Absolutely terrible. I'm not talking even about a blizzard, but any freezing weather. I'd be hard pressed to recommend those tires as a preferred winter tire over anything except a dedicated summer performance tire.

Wow, is it really bad in the wintertime? so how did Acura put that tires on it's CL-S?? Most people will not change them on winter, like we all did (supposedly), hehehe........ But it is good to know. Thank you for the info.
So, any recommendations for good all-season tires that do very well in wintertime, and I'm looking for as cheap tires as possible, because as I said before, this is going to be my winter tires, and I might need to use them during summertime, in case my 19" damaged, get repaired, etc. Thank you again.

In OEM size I have Dunlop SP5000s. They are much better than the stock tires. Not as good as dedicated snow tires, though.
You can tell the Dunlops will outperform the Michs in the snow just by looking at their tread patterns side by side. The Dunlops have more grooves and cuts. That is better for snow, because it give the tire more channels to push snow away and to get a grip on snow as well. Summer tires usually have big channels and the compound is different too.
I can't comment on other tires' performances, but I do know that the Michs are not good at all. Look on Tire Rack under snow performance if you want more proof. I used Tire Rack's ratings to choose my Dunlops. Hope this helps.
