Trade Amps?
Ok here's the deal. My g/f got talked into buying this amp at best buy a while back for her sub, it's a very nice pioneer amp, but it's a 4 channel. And she is only running one channel to her sub. Is there anyone out there that is interested in trading a 4 channel for a 2 or 1 channel amp? I can get specs etc in a day or so.

Instead of getting a new amp why don't you bridge it into mono or wire it up so the channels run at 2 ohms instead of 4ohms?? Depending on what sub you got and the power on the amp...you should be able to make that amp work for you.

I got a Kenwood KAC-626...in excellent working cond...I actually need a four channel amp also. I believe its 100 Watts rms x 2 channel....like 200 watts max into 4 ohms...you could drop it to two ohms and get like 300 watts per channel. If your intrested....pm me

I assume you mean bridge 2 of the channels to mono. How do you "make the amp run at 2 ohms"? What is she is using a 4 ohm driver or something that cannot be wired for a 2 ohm load (DVC 6 ohm etc)...

If she has a 4ohm DVC she could run it at 2ohms. If you can return the amp I would say that is your best bet. Trying to run one sub effectively off of that fairly low power 4 channel amp isn't really possible.

Ok, here is the deal, it does not work to bridge all four channels, to do that I would need an 8ohm sub. She has a fairly high powered head unit, so she doesn't need external amplification for her other speakers. It's just a waste that her 200 watt sub is only getting 70watts.

Ok that sheds some light on the situtation. mrsteve is correct that the Pioneer amp would make a considerable better choice than her headunit for amplification. You cannot bridge all four channels to a SVC subwoofer (in 99% of situations, ESX Quantum amps defy this theory).
Is she looking for large amounts of bass? In some situations 70w may be enough for her "200w" sub. What sub is it?? What speakers is she using for fronts and rears if any?
