SOLD! FS: Volk Racing GT-7 19x8.5 +36 "Gunmetal" and 245/35 Nitto 555's
So here's the deal. I have 3 sets of Volks right now.
I ordered GT-Ss over 100 days ago, and they arrive this week FINALLY.
5 days after I ordered the GT-S's I found these GT-7s locally. I bought them with intent to run until the GT-Ss came in. They were in great shape, except the lip had been seriously discolored by a chemical wheel cleaner. I had the wheels disassembled and the lip proffessionally refinished, which took FOREVER... just got them back last week.
I had the refinisher leave the lip raw aluminum. This way, the lip will never get trashed again, it takes all of 5 minutes with a little Mothers Billet aluminum polish to make them look like new now.
While waiting for the GT-Ss to come in, and the GT-7s to get refinished, I grabbed up a lightly used set of TE37s as well, which I'm currently running. I love the TE's, and would keep the GT-7s if I could get out of the GT-S order but it's too late in the game. So... everything has effectively showed up at the same time, and I can't run all three sets. Still on the fence as to keep the TE's.
The wheels are in excellent condition, with the lips recently completely refinished as described above. There are no marks or rashes on an any of the rims, the only notable blemish is some minor scratching inside the wheel lug holes from an over aggressive impact gun, which is easily covered by a set of ray's duraluminum lugs.
245/35/19 Nitto 555's have about 40% tread left, so you could get through the rest of the summer without needing new tires.
19x8.5 +36 pad A face - WILL FIT 3G TL'S PERFECTLY, AND WILL CLEAR 6MT AND TYPE-S BREMBOS. These fit my TL without any rubbing. Extreme drops MAY need a minor fender roll in the rear.
High face GT center caps included. Wheels recently balanced, ready to roll.

Price $2G FIRM Prefer local to NoVA, but will ship at buyers expense.

Just grabbed the yellow pages and started calling. I found one place that did powdercoating, but would not strip and polish aluminum, they referred me to this crazy VW restoration shop, where I found the guy that did the work.
Folk willing to take on this kind of work are few and far between, at least at a reasonable price. VERY labor intensive, specifically to polish strip the old annodizing and polish the lip, by hand.
I also got a few PMs asking about the torque specs and such. I personally called Mackin Industries (sole Volk Racing importer), and asked about this before I so as much as disassembled the 1st wheel. I wanted to verify the assembly nuts and bolt weren't single use stretch bolts and that I was not compromising the safety of the wheel.
The feedback I got was very solid, Volk 2 piece wheels get refinished all the time, and he reffered me to a couple of shops local to Mackin that refinish Volk multipeice wheels (in California, no good to me, I'm in VA).
His words of advice were:
- Use proper torque, around 20 ft-lbs per nut
- Use an alternating start pattern
- Use loctite for additional security
This is the process my polish guy used, and I supervised/helped o=during this phase. I'm 100% confident these wheels are as safe as a brand new set.

Still available, Actros almost took home both sets of Volks, you could see that polished lip put a gleam in his eye.
Everytime I get ready to ake to the bay, some tire kicker comes by and says "wait, I'll buy em in 2 weeks...". Poop or get off the pot boys.
Excellent 19" GT-7s with tires for $2 bills is a steal.

I can't believe it either, bad ass rims.......
I already have two sets or i might consider it, only downside for me is the 245-19's
I only put 235's on mine so it is more aggresive and i can drop it lower!
Good LUCK
Someone has to jump on this... AWESOME DEAL!!!

and $1500... no thanks. $2K firm means $2K firm... and you KNOW that's great deal considering you've shopped Volk Racing wheels.
thanks for the bump...

They are AWESOME rims, i really think the problem is that they have 245-35 tires, and not 235-35......
I would have bought them if they had 235, i don't like the look of the 245's.
Either way they will sell eventually....
If you have too you could always take the tires off and keep them as a spare set for your other Volk's and just sell the rims.?.?.?
