SOLD! FS: OEM Brembo Calipers POWDER COATED TO YOUR LIKING

Well, in accompishing my newest mod, i will be powder coating my Brembo Calipers. Unfortunately, the way it works, i will be forced into purchasing a brand new set of calipers (since i need my car every single day possible).

So, i purchaed a brand new set ($600+) to put on the car while my originals are getting powder coated...

I will then sell the new Brembo Calipers (will probably have about 100-120 miles on then) powder coated to your liking for $500. I will be taking a loss on this whole deal, but its cheaper and easier then renting a car for 4-5 days.

Calipers will be available within two weeks. Please let me know your color choice and lets make it happen! I have teamed up with a VERY VERY reliable powder coating company on long island that has a huge experience in this industry and has been shown on ESPN2 for several car shows, as well as the Funk Master Flex car show.

If the demand is there, i might become a vendor and start an advanced exchage program where you spend the $500, and get a $400 refund when you send back your old ones.

Again, this is only for the OEM Brembos. If you are interested in this. PM me your color choice and we will work out a deal.

Will this enable you to keep the "Acura" or perhaps have "Brembo" on it?

well, mine wont be ready for about 2 weeks, so then i will have the pics..

yes, you can keep the decal, and choose what you want & color of it...

the powder coating place is going to paint the front face color X, then put a decal on there (brembo, acura, type-s, or something custom).. then they will powder coat the entire caliper perfectly with color Y (disassemble & reassemble). Once done, remove the decal, and now you've got.... RRP calipers w/ black lettering, or KBP rotors with white letters...

its definitely a unique and custom mod...and it will be 110% perfect and flawless like it was manuf. that way. this place actually does ALOT of work on just calipers...

i should have pics up before the end of the month. my choice is gonna be siicccckkk... sshhh.... no comments please LOL

if there is not interest in this mod, or any replies about it within like 10 days.... i may just try to return the new calipers to the parts manuf. and take like 10% restocking fee on that (if they allow it)

just thought i would share the joy w/ acurazine, see if anybody was considering this... i think it would be a great idea to color match your brembos like porsches sometimes do

I'd love to support you. What would it cost if I were to send you my current calipers, and just endure the down time?

$50 per pair....

$i think 75 if you want them to do a primary layer a different color for the decals.

they actually disassemble the calipers to ensure a perfect, perfect paint job the thickness of the paint is 4mil, so you shouldnt even notice it nor would it obstruct operation ...

4mil = .004 inches.

What about gold caliper with red Bremo decal?
Or White caliper with red decal?

Also does anyone know where I can get a set of 2 Brembo caliper decals?
I wanna take the Acura off and put a set of red Brembo caliper decals on it to go with the Type-S red.

also. required time is about 3-4 days. ive been doing some research about powder coating over the past few days... its a crazy complicated procedure. it actually involves electricty and putting a charge into metal objects.. pretty cool shit

you could do anything you heart desires... you would need to provide the decal, so they can 'trace' it in the paint..

there wouldnt be any actual decals on the caliper that would 'fall' or 'rub' off.. so its an excellent job

they def have some awesome colors out for powder coat, my former roommate and I had a system and a large heat lamp for doing our stuff, they can do a two stage coat too, lay down a silver then follow that by a brighter color red, blue etc and it looks sick! Same idea as the house of colors 3 stage paints. We did a 4 wheeler frame that way with a blue final coat and it looked incredible. I cant wait to see the pix!

By the way, the calipers...do they come with the pistons and everything in them when you bought it? Will the shop completely take apart the caliper to ensure not heating up the seals?

yes.. but you need to spend some more money besides this...

FOR THOSE WITH 5AT BRAKES, WISHING TO UPGRADE
you will need

(2) knuckles = $96ea
(2) hoses = $19ea
(2) pipes = $3ea
(2) ABS sensors = $19 ea

plus your choice of rotors & pads (approx $200)

so you'll beed the calipers + about $450 extras... much cheaper then getting the Rotora BBK. ($1400~) .. comptech used to sell this brembo kit for the 5AT.. it cost about $2200+

they cost me $640 and i will only be using them for 3-4 days

yes, they dissasemble the entire caliper to ensure that seals wont be heated up... they also mask off the bleed ports and screws etc. to ensure they wont get clogged with paint...

we could do the core exchange, or if you can be w/o your car for like 7-8 days (shipping times back & forth). ill hook you up for exactly what it costs + shipping back to you.

i definitely plan on doing a sick job to mine. ill even be nice and post teaser pics, since im keeping my car a secret.. lol

Let's not get involved with all of this shipping and powdercoating until BLACKURA_NY is a vendor. I'm trying to be lenient with him posting "feeler" threads but we need to keep all the business type transactions out of here until he actually signs on.

I am talking to astro about this now but we are going through some changes and there may be a delay.

well, the origin of this thread was to SELL a set of OEM brembo calipers and give you the option of powder coating them... i was really only looking to sell the ONE set, and call it a day

if alo other people are interested in the powder coating process, i can send you the places information. Yes, they charge about $50 per pair but you will be without our calipers for a few days

Wasnt really looking to become a vendor... i would love to contribute to a-zine.. but as a full time employee, full time night student, and boyfriend... my time is limited...

So to clarify for Ron A.. i will have ONE set of these calipers for sale in (2) weeks. $500 powder coated, or $450 regular. The calipers will be used for about 4 days, so they will be as new as possible. You can bolt them right up to your existing brembo set-up... OR.... you can upgrade your 5AT brakes

Blacura... what you're saying above doesn't make any sense to me...
1. you're purchasing new calipers...
2. Then installing the new calipers to your car????
3. Then sending your old calipers to the powdercoater...
4. Then removing the New/slightly used and installing your old/powdercoated calipers back on your car???
5. Then selling the slightly used/new caliper to someone in this forum?

isn't that too much work for you???

You could just send the new calipers to be powdercoated to your liking and then just sell the used powdercoated caliper... that way you just have to do ONE remove and install... instead of TWO...

I had you confused with someone, but you did say if the demand is there, you might become a vendor, so I thought you had plans. People are asking you to do this or you are telling people to send you their and you will get them powdercoated.

I may be reading it wrong, but anyway you only need one set of calipers sent to you, so everyone else stop posting about doing this.

If you want to tell people where you get yours powder coated so they can send theirs directly to that place, that's fine.

yea, it is a little extra work.. but here is my plan..

say nobody on the forum decides to buy the calipers.. i will try to send them part to the parts manuf. for a refund (less 15-20% restocking fee).

If i was to sell my older calipers (4k miles on them) i would have to ask for less than $450-500, so i would take a bigger $$ loss

I am sure SOMEBODY on here would want to upgrade their 5AT brakes for a very affordable price instead of going Rotora

Im sorry for the confusion as well, i know the BM rules and try to follow them perfectly

Yes, people can feel free to PM me and ask me about the place that will be powder coating.. if i was to ever become a vendor, i would rather do it for headlight clearing, then brake painting LOL

So yea... (1) set of OEM brembo calipers.. going for $450.... $500 if you want them powder coated... I will post pics of my completed job hopefully before december

Blackura...
I might be interested.

I'd want to buy a set of rears to match. I assume they can do that too.

Got any samples of "any" of thier powdercoat work. I'd like to see some of the 2 layer coatings.

Hey Black,

I'd be interested in the set of your new caliper assemblies. How much time are we looking at before you get your originals back? My car's at the shop right now so it would be nice to get all this done while my engine's getting worked on.

Let me know. Thanks!

Bump for a good deal if your planning to OEM and can do the install yourself or have a shop to do it cheaper than the dealer.

Sorry I couldn't pull through for you black.
