SOLD! FS: DC Sports Headers 3 bolt flange headers for 2g TL/CL
Alright boys and girls, the time has come to let go of my favorite mod.
I'm selling my DC sports headers; which are the last batch that DC made before they were bought out by pilot automotive. I will also throw in some OEM Honda Crush O-ring gaskets.
They are the revised 3 bolt flange headers and there is nothing wrong with them. I bought them from Excelerate about a year ago, and ran them for about 9 months. THeres less than 6k miles on them since I haven't been driving the TL much since gas prices have been ridiculous (been driving my GF's 03 civic).
For those that don't know, headers are probably the best mod for the 2nd Gen TL-S and CL-S. I haven't had my car dyno-ed recently, but peak horsepower is about 18-20 hp at the wheels with headers. My last dyno back in Nov 07 showed numbers of my TL-S with around 233 WHP (with headers and all other mods).
After taking the headers off and putting on the stock headers, I can definitely feel a difference; low end the car feels the same - but at higher rpms and past 30 mph, the car just does not pull as hard with the stock headers. You can really feel a difference with headers esp in the upper range.
The only reason I am selling is because I recently had to put the stock headers on to pass a smog check and I've been thinking about getting a 2008 Lancer Evolution come this fall/winter.
I am firm and want $200 + shipping. I am in no rush to sell, and if push come to shove I will just put them back on and sell them with my 02 TL-S come this december.
Oh and for those that don't know; even though DC sports was bought out by Pilot Automotive, I gave them a call about 2 weeks ago to see if I could get a carb number. They pretty much stated that they just acquired DC sports and it'd be some time before they started manufacturing any more headers for an outdated car like ours. Chances are, these might be the last revised 3 bolt flange DC headers you'll see for sale for along time.
Pictures will come later tonight.

OK here are pics as promised.
As stated I'll throw in some OEM honda gaskets and bolts.
Note: I took out one of the small gaskets (part no 18212-SA7-003) to test the fit of it. The smaller gaskets are supposed to go where the manifolds connect to the down pipe. The OEM honda gaskets are 1mm too small (in diameter) to fit in the groove alloted for the gasket on the DC headers.
What does this mean? Well 1. you can just keep these as a spare for when you want to put your OEM headers on or 2. you can take a dremel and make a cut in the gasket and slightly flex it to fit in groove in flange (on the part of the down pipe that directly connects to the manifolds.)
The third gasket I'm throwing in with the sale is a larger gasket and I believe it goes to where the downpipe connects with the Cat. There should be no fitment issues with it.
Note the third picture shows the part number of the DC headers HHC55284R (part no. for revised 3 bolt flange)
These are being sold at close to $400 new from a quick internet search; says it's back ordered till May 2008. But who knows when they'll be available.
Again not in a hurry to sell, and please no more low ball offers.
And no: DC sports headers do not come with CARB numbers for any of the J32A headers. I've called Pilot Automotive and verified that already. They stated they will get Carb cert and send a sticker eventually, but they wouldn't give a sepcific date.
The only headers with CARB numbers are the Comptech headers, which is part of the reason why they cost so much.

I think these would fit 98-02 V6 accords. I would be interested if they are still available in 2 weeks.
