aren't these discontinued? are they brand new or used but in as new condition?

I'm not sure about their discontinuation status but I do know that every year, every Pro-series model that Boston puts out keeps the same specs as the previous year.

Do some research and compare the specs of the Pro series from the last 4yrs, you can see for yourself. As for the 2006 Pro-series model, it has the same exact specs as this pair (with the usual Boston Acoustic "revamp" as I like to call it, crossover is silver instead of black, speaker is silver instead of black, etc).

For the last 4 years, most of their models have not changed specs. They just dress up their cones and crossovers from year to year. Something that really shouldn't matter considering your speakers/tweets/crossovers are all hidden under your door panels or your rear panel.

If it's sound quality you are worried about, then you shouldn't be worried. Boston Acoustics make great products and usually they get it right the first time around. To make it a lucrative business from year to year, they revamp their models with design features but the specs all remain the same.

Having said that, I also belive that BA discontinues their older models as soon as they have new ones is available; this might answer your first question.

As for the condition they are in:
In other words, they were used slightly for 2 months and if it wasn't for my honesty, they would pass as "brand new and out of the box"
