Dang it. I've been watching this thread long enough. Let me make a few phone calls to find out if a local place will install it for me. This is one of those projects I don't know that I would be comfortable in doing myself.
If you could post or PM me with a little bit of info - I would certainly appreciate it. Here's what I'm looking to find out:
1) How hard of an install is it? Think I've heard like 6-8 hours? Is this something that I should just man up and do myself?
2) I'm a bit confused about the whole e-manage / reflash? I'm decent with cars, but unfamiliar with what e-manage is, or what exactly the reflash can do. Is this something that I should be concerned about, or is it just another boost for the car if done correctly?
If you can answer those 2 questions, and give me a couple of days - I'm 80% sure that I could take this off your hands if nobody else jumps on it. I just have to really talk myself into it since this will be "behind the scenes" from the wifey if you know what I mean.

Here,
Let me help Actros out. George is a great guy, I have no doubt his gear is well maintained and complete.

You can install this yourself. It's 100% bolt on.
I just installed mine, all by myself. It took about 14 hours, but I did a lot of other stuff too (new crank pulley, oil change, polished intake manifold and spacers, and ATLP J-pipe). The install directions Comptech provides are unbelievably detailed, accurate, and easy to follow. if you can follow directions, you can install this thing.
2) Ignore all this reflash crap... Hondata HAS offered a 3G TL reflash for a FEW SC owners if you're local to a Hondata distributor that supports the 3G TL... and to date that's like 2 places in So Cal. I really don't think it's goping any further, as it's been in this status for over a year, the TL-S/3.5L is now in production, and the 4G is on the way... The market has now passed.
E-manage is another piggyback control solution that allows a proper tuner to set up a custom air-fuel map based on dyno runs (as opposed to the fixed map provided the Comptech ACM). This is obviously a better option as every engine is different, and these maps are affected by different mods... as in free'er flowing exhaust systems and whatnot. You don't need an e-manage as the Comptech ACM more than works, but the e-manage is a little bit better. The problem with the e-manage is finding a shop that can do all this for you...
The kit comes with a piggyback control module that some bitch creates mild surge. If you want the supercharger, you're gonna have to deal with that. If you're waiting to get the supercharger until Hondata releases a production reflash for the OE ECU, go trade in your TL.
Don't let this ACM issue sway you. Get the kit, run the ACM until you feel like stepping up with a E-manage, IF you think you need to. I fail to see the need at this point.

Guys, I gotta tell ya, that custom AEM CAI you see in the pic above will no longer be included, sorry.
I had to give it up to this one dude who wanted it for a long time, badly lol
No biggie though, the stock Comptech Ice box is nearly new and great. It even comes with a cleaning solution. If you are not satisfied with it down the road you can always get a 135 degree elbow, a short alum pipe and a good cone filter. That will work.
