FOR SALE - 2nd Gen 2002 TL Type-S w/navi, 46K mi, white diamd prl/parch - very clean
Hello everyone - well, after buying my TL new in 2001 (just after the 2002 model release), I have decided to sell it and thought this forum would be a great place to post it - not to mention help it go to a good home. The reason I am selling is because I really miss a fully manual transmission (sequential sport shift just isn't enough anymore) AND my wife has been hassling me to get a different car for a while... Anyway, the specs are posted below. The car is super clean inside and out and has fairly low miles (46, 507) since I work from home. I also had it professionally detailed a few weeks ago and have parked it in the garage until it sells. The car has never been in an accident of any kind. Can someone help me find a good home for it? If so, or if you have any questions or want to see more photos than I have at the below link, just post a follow-up and I will get back to you. I am located in Southern New Hampshire. Thanks for looking!

question to users on pricing for 02 TLS listing
Since I haven't had any replies to my previous For Sale post, I am wondering what some of you think is a fair price for a vehicle such as mine? Kelly Blue Book Value for a private party sale for this car is $18,945 (for excellent condition) so it seems I am in line with that. Are these cars in low demand? Just curious. Thanks for any advice.

Well Less than 5% of Used cars in Excellent Condition, KBB itself says that, and second most people sell a thousand below Good to even get interest and on top of that your on a forum so people expect more of a discount, People probably will jump at your car for $16, and consider it for 17, but for $18k+ you will have to put it on cars.com or the papers

If the price is $16,995 - let's say $17k for the sake or argument - and you put $2k down, that means you'll have to borrow $15k. Banks are a little more hesitant to get into long-term loans for used cars since there's greater risk involved; the bank I deal with only does up to 48 months for used cars, whereas they do up to 60 for new. With a good credit rating you'd probably be able to land the 6.75% interest rate my bank puts on their website for 48-month term used car loans, which would put you at $23.83 per thousand borrowed per month. Let's assume for the sake of simple calculations that you don't have stellar credit - and let's face it, who does these days - and you'd end up paying $25/thou/mon. That makes for the following figures:
($25/thou/mon)*(15thou) = $375/mon.
Of course that's only an estimate. You'd have to consult with a bank to find out how much you'd end up paying. But I get the feeling that insurance would get their panties in a bunch about you paying the actual owner of the car to drive it on a monthly basis, as would the current lienholder (if there is one at this point).
