I have no spite, honestly........
but seeing that you have owned both cars, could you be as honest as you could be and tell me which/why car is better???
Because before I bought my TL I tested both cars and decided on the Acura 3.2TL!!!
thanx, Tanner

I also test drove the IS 300 before I decided to purchase the TL in June, 2000.
You may wonder why I traded in the TL for the IS 300. I had very bad experience with my TL. I got a lemon, there are transmission and hot start problems. You guys in the state are lucky where in the US there are lemon laws to protect the buyer of any automobile. In Canada we don't have the lemon law, that's why the Customer relation in Canada treat treated me very poorly.
Here is the comparision between both cars:
Comfort: TL is much more comfortable, more features such as the auto dimming rear view mirror, sunglass holder. The interior of the IS is very small.
Power: Not yet test, my IS is not run in yet but I guess that the TL will be faster.
Fuel Economy: TL is a little bit better
Transmission: Very similiar
Braking: IS is much better than the TL
Cornering: Comparing stock to stock, the IS is better. The TL felt too heavy.
Noise level: Both are very similiar but the IS 300 seems to be a little bit quieter.
Don't know if this is the kind of comparision you want, but you can also post any messages in this board to ask me for further info.

Man, sorry to hear that, that sucks (about the lemon law) I could see why you'd be pissed.
I would like to know if you feel the same way.....When I test drove the IS300, I felt like I was driving a fixed up Civic(which is what I was tring to get away from, being that I was dishing out 30K's).
Also, which do you feel is a better value?
Let me know when you get some mods on your Lex!!!!
thanx, Tanner

Yes, I have a very similiar feelings about the IS 300. But one thing I know that it is really fun to drive because it is a Front engine/Rear wheel drive. But then I also thought that the car was over price. The TL offers the most value.
I actually did some suspension mod to my IS 300 already. I installed the following in my car.
TRD Front & Rear Undercar Brace Kit
TRD Front & Rear Sway bars
TRD Front Grill
Tom's Rear Tower Bar
Tom's Lower Performance Rod Rear
Tom's Suspension Member Reinforcement Rod (Front & Rear)
I'm really happy with these mods, I feel a great difference in less body roll because of the TRD Sway Set, much firmer feel because of the Reinforcement Braces & Rods.
JoNightTL:
The suspension set does not come in separate pieces if you were trying to ask for an individual price. This set comes with the Springs, Shocks and even the Shock towers. I purchased this set for around CDN$2,500 in July, 2000.

How does the price of mods compare to the TL? And do you think they are more redily available, with TRD and all?

The IS 300 is more support by aftermarket performace parts than the Acura TL. Because the IS is quite a hot car in the Asian market for more than 1 year. Also many parts for the Asian market IS 200 and the Altezza can be fitted into the North American market IS 300. The price of the parts are really similiar between TRD and Mugen.

Did you install the Mugen suspension or did someone do it for you? I have a weird sound from rears now. There was no visable L R indicator on the rear coilovers. Did you notice that or did I miss the indicator?
