Post FS: 2004 Acura TSX

I'm selling my Acura TSX 2004 6MT, non-navi. It's a silver with ebony interior. It now has around 52,000km to the odometer, most of which has been easy, highway mileage. My type D service has just been done, with the complete inspection. Everything is in order.

The car has two dings and one scratch on the right hand mirror, that's all. It is also rattle-free.

I have done all the scheduled maintenances on it.

I have added a 3M Gravel-guard to the front, as well as wheel locks.

selling for $32,200 CA. Ask any questions by PM if you are any serious about buying the car. If not, don't bother.

Also note that I will not discuss prices in this thread. It has to be done by PM or e-mail.

JFP@acuramail.com

Thanks.

Oh, I do for sure, and if I sell, I'll buy another one right away. It's just that with the mileage I do, if I ever want to sell without losing my money, it's now or never, so I'm trying.

But if I don't find a buyer, I won't lose any sleep for it.

That's too much. $32000? Tax included?
Just curious. Not a buyer.

wow..sauce.i'm surprised you are selling. I dont really understand how it can be more economical to sell at 50k and buy another one. Then again you think you can get $32K..which I think is much too high (THere are TSX's with only 5k selling for that much...check trader.ca).

If I were you I would just drive this one into the ground. You could probably get 400k out of it.

Ya I noticed that too on trader.ca, and I don't like it. Hurts resale.
Acura 2000 is selling a Red/6MT with Aero skirts for $34,995 with I'm sure at least 10k.

Most of the cheaper TSXs I;ve seen have been red, so maybe the color makes a significant difference in resale.

I was thinking the same thing with 2 of the 5 TSX's in trader being reds. But at the same time its a rare color so it might help resale in the long run. Way more Silver will be sold than any other color so they should be more plentiful.

I'd be in a red right now if it had a Ebony interior. I'll never understand why they left it out for 04, but I'd bet $1000 it will be available for 05.

Ya..I guess thats possible but typically that will not be the case. Here is what yahoo says about this...

"Keep in mind an unpopular color that lowers car's asking price in 2002 will also lower the car's selling price in the future. So, if you plan on selling the car in a couple of years, you may want to select a car in a popular color such as silver, white, or black."

Well, as I said, with the mileage I make, if I ever am able to just get back my money with the car, then it is money I made, since I will have driven high mileage at the price of normal mileage.

That being said, to my knowledge, in Quebec, I am the only one selling a used TSX as of now, and this means I am in competition with dealers selling new cars. It is also a way of telling my dealer to buy back my TSX: He better want to have it in his yard for sale with a guarantee of me buying back from him than me competing him and eventually cutting him from one sale, then turning around and say, "hey, you didn't want to help me, I'm not buying the next one from you".

Anyways, like I said, I won't discuss prices in this thread, if anyone sees a car he is interested in, but thinks the price is high, it usually doesn't prevent him from inquiring further and discuss the deal. If it does, I wouldn't want his business, because the risk be high of him being a cheapskate and causing me more trouble than be worthwhile. Maybe I'm radical, but my full time job is not selling my car either.

I'd just like to add that, coming back from the dealership today, after having been inspected the car is in really good shape. For example, my brake pads are worn by only 25%. This is in my maintenance report.

Just shows you this car has 50K, but not it's usual wear.

Seems like its not too high in Quebec: Acura Optima in Quebec City is selling one TSX at 34995$ with 10,600km to it.

As I said though, I do not want to discuss prices on this thread. You don't have any interest in buying the car, but you just go around saying nah, it's too high. What do you think happens for me after what you just said? It chases away some potential buyers with whom I could have discussed further.

Not very clever.
