Dynaudio MD142 mids and Esotec 3-way crossover

Category: Audio/Video/Electronics
Price: $300
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Location (State/Prov/Terr): CA
Item Condition: Used

I bought these about 4 months ago as part of the Esotec 342 set. They were bought from an authorized dealer on this board who can vouch for their authenticity. I'm upgrading to the Esotar 430 mid which runs about $1,600 and I need a little money to soften the blow.

This is a 3" dome mid. Recommended frequency range is from 700hz to 6khz. I run it from 900hz to 6k. They sound amazing, very smooth sound, great off axis performance, very revealing and detailed. No enclosure required. They make the vocals, piano, and snare drum really pop out.

They can be added to an existing 2-way setup to increase SQ directly and indirectly by allowing the midbass to be low passed lower and the tweeter to be high passed higher. The midbass will sound cleaner since it will not have to play into the midrange. Most tweeters will sound much better and smoother with a higher low pass. Even the high end Dyn 102 tweeters I run sound a lot better high passed at 6k vs 3,800hz.

When I first installed them I used velcro on the back of them to stick them to the carpet before my kick panels were ready. This tore off part of the serial number. I have pictures of them as I unboxed them with serial numbers and the dealer will vouch for their authenticity. I also have many posts leading up to the purchase and the review after I received them. The front face is painted satin black to match my interior.

They go for about $260 each from an authorized dealer and $220 from woofersetc which is not authorized and can't provide a warranty. Here's the woofers link: http://www.woofersetc.com/p-5550-md-...-midrange.aspx

Asking $300 for both for a 4 month old speaker only because the serial numbers are damaged. I actually have the piece of velcro with the missing part of the serial attached to it.

I might be willing to part with the Esotec 360 3-way crossover for $100. Crossovers were used for less than a month before I went active and are not cheap in the aftermarket.
