Comptech headers

Does anyone know what kind of torque increases the Comptech headers will give to an automatic? My CL-S is totally stock as of right now, so it would be my first modification...and I guess that matters when it comes down to exact hp and torque increases. If I have it wrong please correct me. Thanks.

I hope that I am not asking for information that has already been discussed in this specific post. If so, sorry guys.

This has been discussed before but its okay. You can find dynos in the dynos forum. Anyways headers don't add much low end torque or hp. They do a lot at the top end though.

Red Rider,

The B-Pipe was supposed to be ready this week---I will double check on it. The piggy-back ECU from Comptech for your S/C.....uh gotta ask on that one too.

bsprinker,

I do not know the exact torque figures, but I can tell you that the car pulls MUCH harder above 4K RPM. I just did mine on Friday and the headers will definately wake the car up!

phatpat,

You have PM.

Thanks everyone!

Sorry everyone---I have been really busy these last couple of weeks.

johndoe666777,

you have PM.

civic4982,

No prices yet---should have some kind of release date this week. From what I am hearing, it will finally be out around October 15. Not everything, but sometimes it feels like it.

N.O. Accorderz,

I can't get the HKS, but I can do the Unorthodox pulleys for $315 shipped.

Thank you all!

Thanks for the update Dean. I'm in for the B-Pipe, i hope October 15th is correct. Does the date look firm ?? It would help if Comptech would update their web site, it hasn't been since August 13th.

Dean: are you getting dicked around by comptech? I ordered some headers and an icebox from someone else and he keeps pushing the delivery date back. It's been 3 weeks now and when it supposedly is arriving it'll have been 4 weeks since I ordered. WTF is up with comptech? They're about to get a piece of my mind. I'm never buying any of their products again if it takes a month to get them.

phatpat: 8 weeks for you? well I finally received a tracking number from my salesman so I'm going to have waited a total of 4.5 weeks. Comptech needs to be filling their orders more quickly. It's not really Dean or any salesman's fault. It's just that Comptech has a missing link somewhere in management. I'm hesitant about ever buying anything comptech again.

yup..i don't think it's dean's fault either..when i ordered my other comptech stuff a couple years ago (from another salesman) they also took weeks to ship the product..comptech does have a reputation for superior performance parts..i guess they rely on that to outweigh their unsatisfactory customer service and crazy markup prices..management has definitely gotten worse down the line...

It sucks that only one company offers parts for our cars. I personally think Comptech is way over priced and the quality is not that great. Come on over 1K for some headers.

if you own the headers then you'll realize the quality in their products. it was worth the 1K I spent in my opinion.

Hi all.....

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you--I had some things that needed immediate attention at the shop and I have neglected the boards....but, I am baaack now

Everyone has a response now via PM....

civic4982,

The B-pipe is supposedly going to be done the end of the mont--at least that is what I was told yesterday--no pricing yet. It will make a few ponies on a S/C car, but I am unsure if it will do much for an N/A car. Yes, it will fit a 6speed car.

Civic4982,

I am sure they make decent power gains and made well, but I think they could offer better pricing. I guess they realize they have no real competition when it comes to parts for the CL. I am just wishing they would lower the prices so I could just buy the headers, b-pipe, and icebox
