attention everyone, be VERY wary of this seller. i had planned for almost 2 weeks to meet up with him and the potential buyer (to help with install, provide garage) and at the last minute the seller backed out. his excuse was that the type-s exhaust he was trading for was "rusted" from previous welds...which is entirely false. i have seen the type-s exhaust in person many times and its perfectly fine.
seller was even offered gas money for making the 90 minute trip to us, and had the audacity to ask for MORE money on top of what we already agreed upon.
just a warning/heads up to potential buyers, tread lightly around this guy.

^^^+1. After 2 weeks of being led on he backed out the day before because of a weld "that gave him a gut feeling" sorry but my magnaflow was welded on by an exhaust shop (not in my driveway) who does exhaust for a living just 2 months ago. I informed him of the mid muffler delete and magnaflow muffler replacing stock resonator from the first message I sent and everything was a go, then backed out at last minute with a change of heart.
The moral of the story is.....buyers don't get your hopes up!! If ur exhaust is showroom new u won't be consideres

whenever you cut a piece of metal, and re-weld it, you will have weld spots. the type-s exhaust that was going to be traded had a mm delete and magnaflow resonator in place of the OEM res...which pro import knew about from the get go, and was fine with.
the above picture is a shining example of a MIG weld job that was done correctly. it is literally just a small adapter/reducer welded onto the exhaust. MIG is wire-feed and so it adds material to the pieces being welded. it is better for filling areas or adding superior strength. if the material surrounding the weld can take the heat and/or doesn't matter if it is deformed or discolored, then MIG welding is the way to go over TIG welding.
anyone who gets something welded onto their exhaust is getting it MIG welded, and that is how it is supposed to look. they aren't "rust spots" they are just wire-feed welds.
my exhaust looks the exact same way after i had my resonator welded on. it's not supposed to be pretty, it's supposed to get the job done and last a very long time.
i know this post won't get me anywhere or even help, but it's important for people to know what they're looking at before they make assumptions. if you don't know what a MIG weld looks like, then don't be arrogant and say it's "rust".

I couldn't have said it better! I see no rust, I see a 2 month old weld. Oh well what can u do? You can't prove someone wrong when they are ignorant to what they are looking at or just give u a bullshit excuse. Ill never know the case but at least potential buyers can be warned on who they are dealing with. I didn't appreciate being dicked around! 2 people had to go thru alot of trouble (and take heat from our fiances) to get this scheduled. I kno that's not his problem but when people change there whole weekend around for a final result of nothing, it's gonna piss some people off.
