3G TL 18X8.5" Gunmetal A-Spec wheels/tires

Category: Wheels & Tires
Price: $0
Private or Vendor Listing: Vendor Listing
Part Fits (you may select multiples): RL 1G, RSX, TL 3G, TL 2G, TL 1G, TSX 2G, TSX 1G, Integra, Legend
Location (State/Prov/Terr): MA
Item Condition: Used

Looking to trade my 18"X8.5" A-spec wheels for a set of aftermarket wheels/tires.

Condition

All wheels have some sort of curb/rash as pictures indicate, these dont have any dings/dents though and will be perfect for someone interested in getting them repainted etc. I had originally indented on doing that but am trying to see if I can trade them rather. All wheels come with centercaps and one of those centercaps is missing the "A" emblem. No TPMS sensors.

Tires

Tires are Nankang NS-II with about 90 percent tread left.

Do post what you have and may be we can work out a trade locally in NE or tri-state area, i dont intend on shipping the wheels.

It will cost some money to get them refinish, but it will be money well spend for the best OEM Honda wheels money can buy. Good luck with the trade.

All of you guys suggesting the OP refinish them, do you all know the color code? Acura is very tight lipped about that color.

^^ No need for Acura's color code. Use Dupli-Color "NG GM 435" - Light Gray Metallic. I used the touch-up bottle version to touch a minor nick on mine. You can't even tell where the nick was if I don't tell you.

I have done plenty of research to see if I can find either this color or the color that type S stock wheels use. The problem is that this gun metal color is almost flat with little or no metal flakes in it and everything that is available on the market tends to be a bit darker or too light.

Rather than getting them painted, its best to have them powdercoated as powdercoating is more durable and will match the OEM color the closest. Here is an example of how powdercoated ones look like. The local company that did these wont give out the exact color of the powder they use.

^^ I actually think that looks better than the stock flat gunmetal color. Its like a mix of gunmetal/hyper silver. Best of both worlds.

^^ Yup, I love that color as well, its more close to the type S gun metal color than the flat 8.5" A-specs. The only thing is that the company that did the above shown set wont give out the color of the powder and they charge $210/wheel to powdercoat Where as I can get the whole set powdercoated for $300 through an acquaintance.

Bump. Found a company out of CT that can refinish the wheels for $400, which includes acid stripping, bead blasting, mending the rashes and then powder coating them to the above shown color.

What type of rims are you looking for on a trade? I have a set of 20x8.5" chrome.

Bump for a fellow 18x8.5 owner

I say keep them and have them refinished but that's just me. I'll send you the powder code that I used if you would like, but as you know they are darker than the OEM color. Whatever you decide to do, good luck

Would you be willing to have them refinished for me since you have done the research and are local to the shop. I am a serious local buyer. I would be willing to give you the 900 and then split the cost of refinishing for a total of $1100.
Also I don't want the tires.

$900 plus shipping, firm they way sit right now.

$1400/Firm for them to be refurbished to brand new condition, which will involve the following.

1) Wheels will be fully straightened of all their imperfections.
2) Sand blasted.
3) Acid washed
4) Powdercoated to either sterling silver or smoke (same color as type S wheels)

Here are some pictures, they are provided by the powdercoating company.

Sterling silver

Before

Smoke

http://www.rimpro.com/index.html

Most other places can coat the wheels for around $350 but that involves sandblasting, acid dipping and chrome plating. In my case I needed someone who can mend the rashes and any vibration if there was any at high speeds.

Sorry, chief, no trade as of right now, no more wheel shopping for me as I already have about 4 sets sitting in the garage collecting dust.

^^ Thanks for the offer, chief. I am just trying to clean up all the clutter in the garage over the winter hence only intending to sell for now.

Thread can be locked, I intend on starting a new one with other sets that I have gathered up over the years as well, TIA.
