I live in North West NJ and my area is thick with Black bears.
We've also had a bumper crop of acorns this year.
So here's a video of bears in trees, eating Acorns.

I have other bear videos on my youtube account. They are frequent visitors.

That's a great shot! Your pics are always so sharp they make my eyes bleed.
Monday was very crowded -- the most people I've seen on a weekday. Of course, a sunny November day in the upper-60's will do that. I couldn't snag a prime shooting spot and had to park in the boat launch area. Fortunately, the police weren't ticketing that day.

I shoot people
my first time trying to capture bald eagles in flight/landing/"going in for the kill" shots... I guess I learned today that the shutter speed should be faster than 1/400 This is heavily cropped, I only had 400mm to work with and I was pretty far away... My wife and I might be going up to Squamish BC this weekend or coming week to visit friends and I believe there are a lot of eagles up there now... I'm looking forward to it

the sun was actually out today (been raining like crazy here in Vancouver), so I went looking for bald eagles, and found none... so I shot a duck

Another great shot, Paul! I'm assuming that was with your Sigma? I ordered a Canon 100-400 L IS II yesterday to replace my old Sigma 150-500. I had a hard time pulling the trigger after looking at your photos, especially given the price difference between the Canon and Sigma 150-600. I kept waffling between the Canon, Sigma, and Tamron but in the end went with the Canon just a few hours before the $100 off instance rebate expired.

At the time I got the Sigma that and the Tamron were the only game in town. Since that time Nikon came out with the new 200-500 5.6. I would probably get that and a 1.4 TC if I were buying a long lens set up now.

Red Shoulder Hawk
First time using the 200mm in action. There are two Red Shoulder Hawks that are nesting very close to my house. We had a nest in one of our trees the year we moved in, but these two have been super loud and active this year.
