looks like someone already took a bite out of the fish, which doesn't surprise me. Bald Eagles are the assholes of the bird kingdom. I've spent quite a bit of time watching them on the coast of Maine. They sit there and watch all the birds zipping around and swooping down to catch fish.... working their asses off. Then, once one of these hard workers gets one, the eagle swoops in and steals it away. Assholes.

ha... I was about to argue that someone could have chosen a better bird to represent our nation and decided to see how the Bald Eagle was chosen before I posted... it seems Ben Franklin agrees with me:
For my own part I wish the Bald Eagle had not been chosen the Representative of our Country. He is a Bird of bad moral Character. He does not get his Living honestly. You may have seen him perched on some dead Tree near the River, where, too lazy to fish for himself, he watches the Labour of the Fishing Hawk; and when that diligent Bird has at length taken a Fish, and is bearing it to his Nest for the Support of his Mate and young Ones, the Bald Eagle pursues him and takes it from him.

Here's looking at you...

No eagles this time. Just a jumping spider I found staring at me just as I was about to enter the shower one day last month. Stogie doesn't check out this sub-forum, right?

I was photographing Hummingbirds yesterday, when I experienced this.....

After watching numerous HB's though out the morning, I saw one going to a flower. I prefocused on that flower waiting for it, before i could refocus to the HB, it stopped and flew off....look at what's at the bottom of the flower....

This is such a cool capture. Seeing the HB realize he was about to land on a PM is crazy. Great shots.

I was mad that no birds were coming to this feeder I bought. Then finally I got a photo of this just as I pulled in the yard.
