Sunflowers 2010
Got up this morning about 4:45am, drove out and met wndrlst and her HLL, for a picture opp. Not a great crop of flowers this year, a bit of a drought keep these at about 5ft or less this year. Many of them barely getting 3 or 4ft tall.

Creepy guy in the mirror.
Nice pics. Is this a farmer who opens the field up to sightseers? Kinda nice they let you right in there.
And is that a pic of the elusive wndrlst in your contest pic? The only other photo in existence is a pic of a boot if I recall correctly.

the place near me, they allow you to get right up to the sunflowers, on their website they actually encourage you to come see them, and have them on the field closest to the road on the side of a small hill that I think he made for them. Im actually gonna go scope it out this morning since there is nothing going on for work so far.
As for the boot, thats a metaphor. The girl in the contest looked cute, and since D looks like a boot, that obviously couldnt have been her

The place is a wildlife area in Montgomery County Md., they plant sunflowers in two different fields during the summer to attract birds for hunters to kill in the fall and winter.

Some sunflower shots from this weekend. Didn't want to start another thread. These fields are in northern MD near the PA border in the West Liberty area just off Route 83. Got up there just before sunrise. All together there are several hundred acres of flowers. As Jupitersolo found at the field he went to the flowers are not real tall this year, only 3-4 feet.

Great captures, damn I was looking for something to do Sunday morning. Wish I knew they were bloomed. I would have driven up. I still have on my calender that a couple other fields in the area might be in full bloom in about two weeks.
