Question for Houston Photographers

I want to know if I need a permit to take pictures of downtown from Chase Tower observation deck? This is a photography assignment for UH.

It's an observation deck, I'd say you'd be OK. I'd take a fisheye lens, if you got one.

if the observation deck is a public spot, then I don't see the need to get permission to take photographs.

BUT, then again... there was that video of the guy being harassed by transit police when he was taking photos of trains(?)

I finally took some pictures of downtown. The only thing you're not allowed to bring.... a tripod.
