Panny GF1 on sale til stock is out...Do I do it?

Sooo. Found out the GF1 body is on sale for 299 til stock runs out. The 20mm is $350...or can be had on amazon prime for 327...The body is not on sale on amazon.

This is because the GF2 is coming out...and the GF2 is complete step backwards for this camera...and has NO improvements on the image quality.

So, Im trying to decide if its worth plunking down the cash...Or if I should shut up and be happy with my Nikon, Mamiya, and iphone...

input?

Shut up, I've seen great images with 4g iphone, plus you have the Nikon. You're gonna need diapers, I'd start buying them about 4 weeks before babies are due.

Don't forget about butt wipes, you'll need plenty of those as well.

The gf2 doesnt interest me. It's panasonic catering to themselves and not the people who are buying these. The camera will actually be MORE of a pain to use with less physical controls and the sensor and processing is the exact same.

Yes...I originally wanted the EP2 and the panny 20mm, best combo...but I honestly the micro 4/3s market needs to get a bit better...I think its starting to get there. I just happened to hear about the deal on the GF1 and debated on it, and my dad just got one and has been happy about it.

I just read the whole preview on the EPL2...not bad, still has some drawbacks...hopefully there will be a EP3 and it'll give me everything I want.

OK, sorry.

I hate that pop smiley, and its used most to indicate sarcasm and smart assedness.

Not sure how it states you are reading and soaking in the thread...but i guess i'll buy it

Yeah, like watching a "popcorn" movie, which basically means its cheesy mindless fun. Its why everyone uses this smiley in e-fights threads.

^^ of course, it can be used in that manner too.

hey, I'm no expert on the usage of the "popcorn" smiley.

sounds like an overkill to mount EF lens on 4/3s

so... then question is is 250 price markup enough to justify few things like video quality, size/weight?

sarlacc, where did you read about no improvements on image quality?

To me it's only worth the 20 and perhaps the adapter. Unless they make a wider pancake lens in the future.

well, kinda but depends on what lens you use - 50mm, 6.5mm fisheye, etc. many small EF lenses out there. of course I'll also have to try the big ones lol.

I kinda had no business buying that. I have bills to pay, I'm going on a close to 3 week unpaid vacation at the end of the month (because I took too many days last year) - but, I'll make it work. I'll put this in the "you only live once" basket.
