The old EF 24mm f/1.4 was $1299, now it's $1699 after the update to "Mark II" status. I'm sure the Nikkor 24mm f/1.4 will settle out around $1999 after a couple months. Most Nikkors are a little more than the Canon equivalents so it's not too surprising to me.
The 16-35mm f/4 VR sounds like a great deal for $1259. It's a straight shot at the EF 17-40 f/4 which is a popular lens in the Canon camp that people would likely want to replace if they switched to Nikon.

[NR] Rating: 90% – everything with rating of 90% or above is pretty much a done deal, however final changes in the release schedule are always a possibility.

I can definitely tell that the rumors chatter started to pick up in the last few days after it was dead for a month. Something is definitely coming – I already started to see the first signs of an imminent announcement (Nikon AF-S 200-400mm f/4G IF-ED VR lens) which could happen as soon as the end of April. The next step will be to get the exact date for the scheduled Nikon press conference.
This is the latest info I got: 3 new Nikon DSLR cameras are in the pipeline. One of them will be an entry level model (probably D4000).
The second camera will have:
* 39 AF points
* it will be 16 MP with 6400 ISO + HI2 position
* 24 fps 1920/1080 video
* it will have an optional (new) MB-D11 grip
I do not have any info on sensor size, exact model name or release date – this could be Nikon’s plan for the whole year (2010).
It is interesting to note that the current PRO DSLR line from Nikon has 51 AF points. The Nikon D90 has 11 AF points. The AF of this rumored camera falls in between, which means (if true) it will either be:
* the replacement of the Nikon D90 (DX sensor inside)
* a new product line that will fit between the D90 and the PRO level cameras (I consider the D300s, D700 and D3s to be PRO level)
* Nikon D700 replacement – that means that there will be no ISO improvements and the AF points will drop from 51 to 39 (FX sensor) but you will gain video and 4 extra MP.
FYI: Nikon D90 and D300s have a standard ISO of 3200, the Nikon D700 has a standard ISO of 6400 (same as the rumored camera).
No word on what the third camera will be.

Love my D3. 
I'm more curious as to what they are going to do in the video arena...as much as I dont like the DLSR being used to films with....its happening.
And since I sold my old HD camera a while back, if the Nikon does this right they could give me a means to have a viable camera again, thats affordable.

But ever since the 7D I've been more interested. I'm potentially shooting a short on a 5D in a month.
The season finale of House was shot all on the 5D, I'm hoping to catch that when it airs.
All of the research I have been on people using these cameras to shoot with has mainly been garbage. Its the same crap they were spewing out on slightly more expensive dedicated cameras....except now they have their beloved shallow DoF...and man have they been OVER and incorrectly using it to the point of annoyance. These cameras have some really big limitations as well when compared to dedicated video cameras. And you really have to learn what they are and how to work around them.
But the couple things I have seen shot well with these cameras have been great. The infamous DP who got screamed at by Christian Bale has been spear heading the the charge with the 5D and has some great stuff out there.
So, yeah I'm interested to see if Nikon gets in the game and if they make it worth my while.
But I still dont love the idea overall.

Whats your opinion on the d3s and the manual controls on d3s and not the d300s lol?
