mb-d10 yea blackfriday I bought 1... options
So guys I'm trying see what you guys think.
Right now i'm going use the mb-d10 grip with my d300,
the extra battery that i have for the camera. (EN-EL3e )
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...tery_Grip.html
here are my options
-Stick with the grip use aa batteries from the store or wherever when i shoot sports and use the extra camera battery
-get aa rechargeables for the grip it eats 8, and if so any suggestions on a charger and batteries that your happy with?
-EN-EL3e $40 but no 8fps for sports
-get the nikon EN-EL4a $109
+ charger MH-21 Quick Charger $119
+ BL-3 Battery Chamber Cover $34
8fps and its something i plan on getting in the near future just dunno when due to lack of funds.
The reason i ask is what are the odds of the rechargeables failing and replacing, or regular akaline can get costly quickly.
I do intend to be shooting more sports so for now i'm looking at just using AA, but i'm trying to see if anyone has anymore of opinions.

AA's will run out like crazy. The least $$$$ is getting Sanyo's enloops,

i've heard good things about the enloops too. I think costco has a coupon right now for a package of like 8 AA's and all the other sizes and charger for like $20. Not every costco seems to carry them, as I couldn't find them at mine.
if you have a flash too, you'll definitely need rechargeable batteries. So if you ever do get the ENEL4a or whatever, you can still use the AA's.
there are no reliable 3rd party sources for either of the nikon batteries though? I've heard good things about sterlingtek if you want a little cheaper enel3. Might be more handy if you plan on using the grip a lot. I know I would find taking out and replacing 8 batteries all the time annoying.

I can vouch for them. Just bought a second set. As Osamu mentioned, check Costco. They have a coupon for $9 off, which makes the package $30+tax. I thought our local store didn't have them, but then found them in the Christmas Toys area - not with the other batteries.

I gave the Phottix Kosmo a shot 50 bucks for the battery and charger.
Alot of people have been using phottix wireless triggers and such. So figure i'd give these a shot if i get any mb-d10 malfunctions i'm located near the nikon service center =).

Battery pack came!
so far charged 2 hrs got 356 shots and 80% left. It does read the battery info which is a major plus. Shoots 8fps effortless, i'm pretty happy the fitment is snug and slightly off but im going sand down the palstic edge that makes it protrude slightly.

Yea its not much of sanding its just that the battery pack is made for the phottix grip. So it fits into the d300 really snug.

this is someone's pictures its pretty good though i don't even notice it unless i look at it but i want it to be a bit more flushed so i'm going sand down the inner edges so it fits tighter to the grip.

a short video how it works. As you can see it shows battery info and fits in pretty easy once i sanded down the edge on one side.
