Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park

We went to Sequoia Nat'l park for my nature cinematography class, I mostly shot stills and a little video. I used a 14mm, 24mm, 50mm, 70-200 VR, 80-200 f/2.8, and a f/2.8 400mm Nikkor (with and without a 2x teleconverter).
It took FOREVER to find any bears, for the first couple days we couldn't find anything. We hiked about 5 miles into the wilderness and didnt get anything but tracks, but we lucked out at the second spot.
Sorry there's a lot of pics. I have some from when we were at Big Sur too, I'll get em up tomorrow.

Very nice work, zguy! And may I just say how INSANELY jealous I am??!
I especially love the abstract nature of the grass photo in the second set, the water/rock/long shutter speed B&W's, and your 1st two people shots. Very nice, indeed.

Very nice set! Thanks for sharing such beautiful shots. I find photographing nature properly to be challenging. Nice set of lenses too!
The only thing I noticed was the moon was blurred. Was it a long exposure or did you note time/remote trigger the camera?
Is this class for your major?

Thanks for the comments guys
For the moon shot I had it at a f/22 and around a 1second exposure using a remote, that was about the sharpest I could get it. The tripod I had that night was a little undersized for the ginormous lens I was using.
For the grass shot I used the 400mm with the 2.x teleconverter with the lens wide open.
I'm a film major btw , specializing in the commercial track.

BTW which lens did you use for the grass shot? That's such creamy bokeh! 50mm? 400mm?

You have a great eye for composition!
So does your class provide the gear for you? That's a nice set of Nikkors 400mm 2.8... what is that like a $9000 lens?!

Awesome shots zguy! I love the shots of the rocks in the river with the cotton candy water swirling by. That stillnes combined with the motion is a very cool effect. Looks like a beautiful place to shoot.

is learning to moonwalk i
Great captures at fantastic locations. Kings/Sequoia is a great location and bear sightings make it even better.
Looks like you were smart enough to not get between the cubs and their mother
Were all the bear tagged?

Just FYI, all of these images are in the AdobeRGB color space, you should really convert to sRGB before uploading if you want them to look the same online as they do in your editor. They look much more saturated and contrasty in Photoshop than they do here.
Other than that, it's a very good set! Thanks for sharing.
