Holiday Lights Pictures 2009

My first Xmas tree. Took me a while to figure out how to light and expose this thing correctly. Critiques welcome!

Post your pictures!

Nice shot! Your signature kind of ruined it all for me though.

Very nice but I seem to recall them being called CHRISTMAS lights.

As you were.

Looking good! I'm heading to a Boat Parade of Lights in Alexandria this weekend if it doesn't rain. Hopefully, I'll get something pretty to contribute. No tree yet, soon, I hope!

You and I may celebrate Christmas but not everyone else in this great country does. SO, to make room for others I named it holiday lights .

great picture. How long did you expose? I'm guessing 3-4 seconds and moved the camera in the last second?

10 second exposure

i didn't move the camera; the tree stands on a rotating base that turns it very slowly....so it just looks like it's moving really fast.

i was standing on a step ladder about 3-4 steps up with my camera on a tripod, all legs extended and raised up as far as it would go, looking down on the tree.

Dammit Rimz, I was going to give you mad props for running around your tree in circles several times while keeping the shutter open and the camera stable.

Nice.

We'll probably be putting up our first X-mas tree this year, but to be fair to my side of the family, I'm planning on putting a yarmulke on top instead of a star or angel.

I don't want to take this to r&p, but I feel it best that you call it what you celebrate. Not what someone else does until you know what the do or do not celebrate. Besides, the lights are on a Christmas Tree.

Well that sucks to have a lazysusan tree, you have to decorate the whole thing.

No need for R&P. The thread is about everyone, not just me. I just got it started with my tree. I'm not sure why this is a big deal .

I hope you take some pictures and share them here! I love holiday/christmas/Chanukah/kwanzaa/insert other december holiday lights!

So you'd sit on your Rabbi's lap and let him touch you inappropriately instead of Santa?

I get to decorate one for the first time:

ah, touché...i have an 8-year old son as well, but there's no way he's gonna reach the top of the tree.

which image are you referring too? the first one? it wasn't made spinning ...but it did come pre-lit (it's really my parent's tree, not mine)...

i don't know if i could get away with intentionally just having my wife decorate the tree...haven't made it to that level of seniority in my marriage yet

here's one i've posted the last two years i think...becoming a tradition for me to decorate AZ with this image every Christmas i guess...

I thought the title said 2009.

And leaving your tree/lights out past Jan 1 doesn't count!

the title could mean post your holiday light pictures during the year 2009, not specifically FROM 2009...

i was going to start a holiday lights thread anyway, assuming i didn't find one already, so i just decided to post mine in here instead...

I added 2009 so some people wouldn't be able to say "there's a thread for that"
