I have almost this exact same shot of the same 3 flowers. Except probably taken from about a foot lower!

And, a deliberately High Key shot, just for grins...

I'm still working on sorting through them all. I took, well, a lot.

Nice stuff, too wndr. It's neat to see different takes on the same subjects. Really digging your 4th and 5th shots.

Thanks, moe. I always enjoy shooting with others for that reason - it's nice to see the same subjects as they saw it. I think it's helpful, and can give me ideas next time I'm shooting similar things.

Thanks, TS - that was actually just my 24-105 f/4L

This was shot with my 100mm macro. This lens never fails to impress me.

Wow, those are awesome shots. I love sunflowers. I was somewhere in southern France once that was just field after field of sunflowers and it was amazing.

Love that B&W one, wndrlst!

Sorry, I meant to reply to this - come on out, but peak bloom is very short. Last year we missed it by a few days, and were pretty limited to macro work on the few flowers that weren't dropped. Thankfully, Jup scouted it out this year - he went by the previous week, and nothing had bloomed yet. We got it spot-on.

Thanks, Jup!

Your welcome, yeah, we only get this once a yr for about two weeks in July. Wish it was longer but that's all the blooms stay around for. The plant stays around much longer doing what it suppose to be doing making seeds.

I wish I could find more fields in this area, or even one to three hour drives.
