Which sucks because its on of the few still lenses thats par focal. The VRII is not.

The VR1 and the 24-70mm are two of my most favorite Nikon lenses. The first two I ever bought, they'll more than likely stay in the family.

Its conflicting, thinking about switching systems after over 20 years of being a Nikon user. But I really think this XT-2, as put by one of the pro testers "is the camera that can be anything you want it to be" A smaller walk around rangefinder style, a dslr like larger body, and just plain fun to use like my GF1.
To wrap all that into one system, thats way more portable...I'm pretty sold.

I have been loving shooting Fuji since the EX-1, but the XT is better for me than the Pro, now I need to sell one, to get ready for XT-2.

Everything I've read about the X-T2 is that its a great all around camera, customizable to your needs.
I just dropped my 70-200 off at Nikon this afternoon to get an estimate for service. Depending how that comes back, I'm going to start listing everything for sale.

Nikon wants $400 to fix my lens after a generous $90 discount. I'll be getting the lens back today. F that. I'll try and find an independent shop.

I wish I could a more detailed review, but I didn't own the XT1, only used one for a few days, to give a fair comparison.
I will say the EVF BLOWS the XT1's out of the water.
The locks on the top dials take a little getting used, as they work counter to how I think they should.
Its speedy. AF really does compete and beat some DSLRs.
I notice a big difference in resolution. But like the XT1...fujifilm really need and like to be sharpened...WAY more than any other camera.
Dynamic Range is fantastic.

Found it...it was a setting called Pre-AF. Probably really great for sports and new photogs. Half depress still locks focus.
Turned it off. Not needed.

And I have a new recorder. The Atomos Shogun Flame, that will allow me to record uncompressed 10 bit 4k with F Log. And I'm actually supposed to meet with someone this afternoon to sell it. I bought it for another reason and have only used it once. Great piece of gear, though.

Well, just sold my Shogun Flame, so I can't do F-Log video. Its all good. I can still play with with internal video...and hopefully Fuji comes through and offers in camera F-Log like that said they may.
Also, Vertical power booster came...it definitely adds weight and girth. Makes using my PD Everyday messenger a little more cumbersome. I definitely think I want the PD Everyday Backpack when it comes out to store my "bulky" set up.
And then pare down to maybe the 10-24 or 23/2 (if/when I get that) and lose the grip for a more "everyday" set up in the messenger.

That battery grip bugs me. I do not like the extension up from it for the finger grab.

It bugs me that it isn't flush with the side of the camera. When holding it, there's a bit of a void. The rest doesn't bother me. Thinking I could Dremel it off, but my buddy wasn't going to let me try on his. I still have not gotten a XT-2.

I'll be very curious to see how you react to it vs your d500. Especially with AF and burst shooting for your bird shooting.

Thought my local shop had sold out, contacted him yesterday, had one left. Told him to let me know when next batch came in. I still want to sell my D800e first, to have the money in my pocket. Also thinking of selling my X100t, because I don't use it that often.

Fuji mirrorless medium format system will officially be revealed today. Already had an image leaked.
This is thing might make hasselblads MF mirror less look like nothing.

It completely has to have a new mount/lens system. It's going to be twice as big.

Their lens selection is trumping the Hasselblad's....but the design/size of the Hassy is better imo.
Man, I really want this set up. No need for it...or the expensive as hell pricing.
