Canon Vixia HF21 Anyone?
I'm subscribed to a guy on YouTube who shoots a LOT of train videos in this area, much more than I have the patience or time for. One thing I've noticed is the amazing quality of his videos which he shoots with a Canon Vixia HG20, a high-definition hard drive camcorder. The HG20 has been discontinued and replaced by the HF21 which I've heard great things about.
Does anybody have experience with this camera at all and what do you have to say about it? I've always had Canon point-and-shoot cameras and have had great luck with them but I've never had a camcorder of theirs.
At $799 list price, it's not cheap so it's going to go on my 'list of things to buy when I get a job'.

A camcorder is going to give you the best image possible for video, it's a video camera. $800 seems like a pretty good price, considering they were double that just a few years ago.
I couple newer P&S can now shoot 1080p video but, I would say not as good as that HG series.
IMO, if you want a video camera buy a video camera. Want to take pictures, buy a still camera.
