Canon Rebel XT or XTi?

Ok, so we want another digicam but a DSLR besides the P&S.

What would you buy, Canon Rebel XT or XTi?

There are great price drops for the XT. But the added features of the XTi are enticing. But what about the noise problem on the XTi???

XT - $600 - $650 ish
XTi - $785 at Best Buy this Friday/Sat. (If you can get your hands on one) Or $819 at Costco.com.

From another board....
My understanding is with the $200 difference between the XT / XTi is:

10.2 vs 8.1 mPixel - ? significant
better AF on the XTi - apparently the same AF as my 'new' 30D, which I love
9 AF points - again, very useful
larger LCD - I like mine.
Sensor Cleaning - not present on the XT.

So I guess u do get a bit for your $200, and I would say that the improvements in the AF would get you closer to better pics than any of the other upgrades (IMO).

The only thing I don't like about the XTi is the missing status lcd. I love that small display and hope transferring the info to the large lcd isn't going to become common.

But it does have a lot of other cool features, especially the self cleaning feature, if it works as well as advertised.
