if you noticed I posted that both EF and EF-S lenses have a distance of 44mm, where the EF-M lens is 18mm.
the EF-M lens would have to mount inside the body of a FF or APSC DSLR. Won't work since the mirror is in the way.
Right but with an EF-M to EF adapter it would probably be fine just with a small image circle. I don't know why anyone would ever want to do this but it's still possible.

It's dangerous. EF-S lenses stick in so far that the mirror might hit the end of the lens when it flips up.
Someone got the EF-S 10-22 lens to work on a full frame camera, but they had to chop off the (hollow) end of the lens to do so.
There's no need for EF-S to EF adaptors. AFAIK when canon makes their lenses, they add an extra extension to the rear element mount that sticks into the camera body. This can hit the mirror. You could remove it or cut it off.
Most other manufacturers don't do this. Hence why you can mount non-canon APSC lenses on full frame bodies.
You just have bad vignetting at the wider angles.
example is the sigma 18-35mm f1.8 on a 5D Mark IV. (People do this because of the 1.7x crop in 4K)

The new Eye Detection AF mode also sounds promising. Sadly, it only works in AF-S and won't track an eye, so it's only useful if your subject stays reasonably still.
Canon has also included a silent shooting mode that uses a fully electronic shutter – the first time this has appeared on a EOS camera. Frustratingly, though, it’s only available from a fully automated mode that’s accessed from the SCN position on the exposure-mode dial. The electronic shutter can’t apparently be selected in any other shooting mode, which feels like a missed opportunity.
i think for an additional $20, I'd rather get the Sony a6300.
sure there's no dual pixel AF when filming in 4K, but neither does the Canon!
This mirrorless seems like a pretty piss poor effort... Even if they literally copied all the specs of the Sony's, they might have a good chance...but they didn't.

The M5 was such trash.. I went to the Canon Factory to drop off my lens to clean/fix, saw the M50, loved it.. Now i need to sell my 7D so I can buy the M50.. They're running a promotion until the end of the month with some great instant savings on the M50 and the EOS M adapter...

As reported earlier, this camera will sport a 30.4mp sensor that could be closely related to the EOS 5D Mark IV.The second full frame mirrorless body will be a lower megapixel count. We’ve seen mentions of various pixel counts, which isn’t unusual, as test cameras can come with a wide array of different image sensors. The most likely pixel count will be around 24mp, we do not believe they’ll be using the EOS 6D Mark II’s 26.2mp sensor, or even a modified version of it.
Both cameras will shoot 4K, with the “flagship” model providing the best video features.We’re also told that there’s a possibility of a removable EVF on one of the cameras, which we think would be reserved for the lower end full frame mirrorless camera.We’re told that there are currently no plans to release a camera that will compete directly with Sony’s high ISO capable Alpha a7s II. I bet those two bodies were meant to be released this year, but when the a7III was announced, they saw how all those features Sony threw in, at the price point of $1999.99, they probably decided to go back to the drawing boards, at least that's my theory.

Those are nice. Only thing is, the camera itself is looking to be around $600. The Amazon kits range around $650-700. They do look nice but I'm not of a fan of the look of them. I like the bulky look. I know its odd. Lol. Didn't want to start out spending $600 on the camera alone.
