By late to the party I mean on some of those features. The 6Dmk1 is on par (in terms of feature set) with the A7mk1. I hope it ends up being good though, Canon really needs a win with this one. I had been waiting for the 6D2 forever before I switched to Sony, this has been a long time coming.

Bummer about 98% viewfinder.

was hoping for 100% since the 80D is 100%

My GoPro hero 4 silver is the same.

can't record video in 4K but it can generate 4K time lapse movies

timelapses are created with still images so it kind of makes sense

They're obviously not adding 4K so as to not hurt sales of their 5D4/C series cameras etc

For my use, I don't need nor care for 4K.

But yea that said, it's 2017. Even my iPhone can shoot in 4K

    Pre-ordered 6D.

Love my current 6d, honestly would have bought the II if the only thing was changed was the tilty-screen.

    From DPReview:

….it seems the benefits that appeared in the sensors used in the EOS 80D and EOS 5D IV have not been applied to the latest EOS 6D II, and the new camera has less dynamic range than we’ve become used to. Graphs plotted by regular DPR collaborator Bill Claff illustrate this pretty clearly. In this article, we’re taking a look at what this might mean for your images. Read the full test

Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III Specifications:
    • 24mp APS-C Sensor (The PowerShot G1 X Mark II was 1.5″ sensor)
    • Dual Pixel AF
    • DIGIC 7
    • 24-120mm lens (35mm equivalent)

I wonder how pocketable the G1X is.

I was considering a Fuji X70 as an everyday carry camera. I like that the X70 has an APSC sensor and 28mm FF equivalent lens.

Canon has a EF-M to EF adaptor. As for comparing it to the a6000, I'd say

Did more reading, you're right. A6000 is going to kick it's ass even though it was introduced more than 3 years ago. This thing looks like a total afterthought and not really worth the R&D time to develop it.

Only thing going for the M100 is the touchscreen and that adapted canon EF glass will focus quick on it.

Man those specs look nice on paper! 4k 24p and FullHD 120p??!?!

    pretty much a vloggers camera.

i wonder what codec they will use for 4k.

    8bit 4:2:2 MJPEG like the 5D4,1DXII & 6D2 4k timelapse?

Rumors say this camera sits below the M5 but above he M6.

That would mean the price is between $979.99 and $779.99. So... $879.99?

Yup and they work quite well.

I hear the 3rd party adapters work as well as the canon EF-EFM adapter which costs like $200

but you're that much farther away from the sensor... that doesn't impact anything? Pardon my ignorance.

with mirrorless camera they don't have a mirror box, so the distance between the sensor and mirrorless lens can be much smaller.

what the adapter does is increase that distance back to what it would be if there was a mirrorbox.

The term is flange focal distance.

with canon EF & EF-S; the distance is 44mm
with canon EF-M (mirrorless lens) the distance is 18mm

so the adapter makes up that difference of 26mm
