Arrow Audi R8 Photoshoot

Quick shoot of an Audi R8, beautiful machine. Have some HD video footage too, will post that later.

Tried some new PP, they're super-processed. Lemme know what you guys think.

ugh I love that damn car...

that being said, i personally think most of the images are too dark...and i assume that's due to increasing the black value while post-processing...the car is dark as it is, plus it's night so i would have liked to of seen the cars lines better...

also, and maybe it's just me, but some of the shots don't seem real sharp...were you shooting these hand-held or tripod?

and my final criticism, maybe a few more closer shots rather than the entire car with a parking lot background...

but i don't think you can really go wrong when you shoot an R8, so overall, nice job...

Yeah alot of factors made the car look dark. And yes, some of these were handheld, others using a crappy tripod (I didn't have one with me so I asked the owner to bring one LOL). The sharpness... which photos are you talking about? Some of these were MF because the AF was having trouble focussing under the low light.

Nice job vortec I like exploring into new pp techniques.
It is a bit dark in some but I guess its understandable its a black r8 at night hehe.

af problem next time bring a flash light and shine it on the panel your focusing on then shut it off. Basically it won't ever give you trouble again at night.

I have better luck with my d300 than my friends 5dmkII so he asks me shine my cell phone of af assist light on something at night haha.

i just remembered my monitor here at work displays things darker than they really are...so your photos probably aren't as dark as i think they are.

when i mentioned being more sharp, i was really only looking at the second shot...it appears that the back is more in focus and then blurs more as you get towards the front of the car...plus i think the light shining down on the front quarter panel helped distort it for me as well.

how about some rolling shots?

Some of them have the dark PP working out for them, some of them don't.

I really like the close-up shots. The Audi R8 is one of my favorites

There's something..."un-natural" ... about the ones with the whole car (e.g. the first one)...they almost like the car was CGI'd and then overlayed against the background.

The R8 is a hot car. I especially love the headlights. It inspired me to do this to my Type S.......
