didn't have my tripod, had to resort to using the Multi Frame Noise Reduction mode

(not HDR)

All the moon shots were for this composite. It's my first attempt. I'm sure more tweaking will come.

BTW pptl - I would remove the stars that are visible in the shadow of the moon on the shots... It makes it look like the moon has been blown up. It's particularly bad on the second to the bottom on the right side. Those parts of the moon are still there even though there isn't light hitting it :-p

yep. Thought about it, and I'll do it on the second take. What do you think about the stars in the dark edges of the frame...leave them or cut them?

Well if your had a white border line or something (away from edge) I'd say take them out but I don't think it hurts to leave them in
