Water power. Check out how small the people and the birds are.

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
That looks like something out of HL2. The colors of the ice and oxidized metal are very complimentary (esp. with the shadows), imo. Nice picture.

I request a small extension. I will be going at 2pm on Sunday to take photos for a specific shoot, and I will be wanting to enter one of them...but I will be out for awhile, then I need to come home and process etc.
I'd to be able to enter later Sunday night.
If you guys don't want to go for this, thats fine by me.

Sarlaac - No problem at all. What time Sunday do you think you'll be done? Just shoot me a PM. Or - to show your appreciation for the special exceptions granted to only you, you can just put the poll together when you're finished processing your entry.
Just kidding about that. Couldn't pass up the opportunity for a little dig. I'll wait to here from you to close the window for submissions.
*Note This extension applies to everyone - not just Sarlaac.
Stogie - Real nice shot dude. Like it a lot! That would make an awesome poster.

Used my lightbox, a black background sheet, a 70-200 f4 on a tripod and set the camera to high speed burst. The match is held in place with a alligator clip on the end of a spool of wire
I used a remote release in one hand, and a cigar lighter (jet style) in the other.
I lit the lighter, pressed the remote button, and then moved the lighter near the match head. It took a little trial and error, and since I was shooting in RAW, I only had 17 frames before the buffer would fill, but eventually I got it.
The main problem was that I needed to have the lighter REALLY close to the match head to get ignition, hence the tight crop.

I guess since superspecialsarlacc hasn't posted his yet, we can still submit? If not, no biggie - I didn't have a chance to shoot new anyway. Shit keeps hitting fans.
Anyhoo, if it's not too late, I couldn't resist the other kind of...

Great topic! I've enjoyed seeing the interpretations.

My favorite thing about that photo is that every time I look at it I think "Tucker Fucker." That's what my friend/his owner calls him - he's got attitude!

Sarlacc - and everyone else - you've got until tomorrow morning. It's been a long, great day and I'm not gonna put the poll together until morning so .........
I love the different perspectives and definitions that went along with this topic. It's cool to see where peoples thoughts go, and such a wide variety of ideas. And wndrpnts, great play on the word for the topic!
It's gonna be great to see which way the votes go. It's gonna be hard to make a choice - so many different elements besides the overall "wow" factor to consider.
Good luck everyone.
