Acurazine Photo Contest #46
This contest does not have a theme. Just a set of rules and constraints to work within. The subject matter of your images may be anything you like that complies with Acurazine NSFW and other posting rules.
The intent of the contest should be self-evident when reading the rules, but it is essentially "leave the big gear at home and go make something with your cheaper (or cheapo) camera."
Rules unique to this particular contenst:
- HDR is *NOT* allowed.
- The image must new. "New" meaning the picture must be taken on or after the date this contest opened. We'll use the honor system or EXIF info if necessary to judge "new."
- B&W images are not allowed unless the B&W conversion is created in-camera. Routine image adjustments such as levels, curves, brightness, contrast and so forth may still be applied to such images.
- The camera you take the image with must have a permanently affixed lens. Images taken with SLRs and Micro Four Thirds cameras are *NOT* allowed. This is the definition of "point & shoot" for this contest.
- You are exempted from the previous rule if you own a Leica M8 or M9, and let the creator of this contest borrow it for one month.
General rules for this contest are as follows:
-The subject can be anything you deem acceptable that fits the description.
-You must be the person that took the photo.
-One submission per contest.
-Images must be no larger than 1024px in any direction. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under 1024px for the poll.
-All contestants must host their own pictures.
-All pictures must have a title.
-While post processing in Photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photo-chopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.
Important dates and poll info:
Entries must be submitted to this thread no later than Saturday, October 30th at 10PM EST
The poll will start on October 31st.
The poll will close on Friday, November 5th at 10(ish) PM EST

I think the "new image" and "in-camera B&W" rules work well for this particular contest. I'm not really opposed to dropping either or both of the rules if enough people voice opposition to them.

Keep it, I'd say camera phones are good as well.

Love the Leica exclusion...
Yes, I'd think camera phones qualify? Hope so...it's the only p&s I have, and I want to play again!

Both of my p&s cameras are down at the moment, so I used my cameraphone for this one w/ in phone filter. If it doesn't fit the criteria, just ignore it.

FYI - I'm busy in the middle of a project for work (yes, on a Sunday night) so I likely won't be able to get the poll up until Monday night. Not like there's an extensive choice on this one anyway.
