Volkswagen: 9.150 ECE news

From Worldcarfans...and, WYHI?

First released back in February in Brazil, the details of the monstrous VW 9.150 ECE (Especial Chassis Eletronico) armoured vehicle has evaded us until now. Powered by an MWM International 4.12 TCE Euro III which produces 132kW (180hp) and 600Nm torque at 1600 rpm, the 9.159 ECE rides with a reinforced rear suspension, pneumatic brakes and a whole lot of steel armour plating. With a wheelbase of 2,850 mm, the curb weight of 8,500 kg (18,740 lbs.) is distributed with 3,200 kg (7055 lbs.) over the front axel and 5,300 kg (11,685 lbs.) over the rear. Surely capable of withstanding a whole lot of abuse, but how is the fuel economy?

I'd put the bomb right between the body and the frame over the rear wheel... that looks like the weak point on this vehicle...
