"Toyota, Honda predict gain"

"The Japanese automakers boost production and raise 2005 sales targets.

Japan's leading automakers Toyota Motor Co.p. and Honda Motor Co. put rivals on notice this week by announcing higher sales targets for 2005 and ambitious production increases worldwide."

Europe is one of the last remaining markets in the world the Japanese can make serious gains in unit sales. The Germans have to be shaking it their boots. Toyota should make some strong gains in Europe over the next 5 years. Then again, that's not new to anyone. Toyota will rule the world in 20 years.

In China, it looks like VW's once strong foothold in that market is gone for good. Honda's betting on grabbing a few more slices of that pie. But alas, Honda will continue to settle for 3rd place. <<sigh>>

I see Toyota gaining in sales in all categories, while I see a slump in Honda's car sales. Acura will continue to do well and so will Honda SUVs sales.

Common, who doesn't want a economic / reliable / fun to drive car? I'm surprised no one other than Toyota, Honda, and Ford (as far as I'm aware) have developed Hybrid cars.

GM is currently developing hybrid trucks i.e. Silverado....don't know what else though. Daimler Chrysler has a Durango Hybrid in the works too.
