This design from Toyota's California design studio is a 'halo' sports car for Toyota and it looks absolutely gorgeous. Will they build it? We're waiting to find out and will let you know soon.

While this may be far from a production design, Toyota gave us a long run of teaser cars before we eventually got the Scion FR-S. I'd say it was worth the wait.P
The Toyota FT-1 was developed in Toyota's CALTY design studio as an idea 'inspired' by CEO Akio Toyoda loves.
"The FT-1 is a dream-project for a designer and car enthusiast like myself," said Alex Shen, Calty's Studio Chief Designer. "Our team was heavily influenced by Toyota's sports car past, especially Celica and Supra, and we sought to capture some of that history. It is an aggressive, track-focused sports car concept with a presence that has been amplified for shock and awe."P

Side profile pulls a lot from the LF-A it seems. I wonder if it uses the same chassis design underneath.

The sizzle in the Steak
Toyota/Lexus designs are really on a roll!
Not to mention the b@lls they have to bring back sports cars & sport coupes to the market place.
Meanwhile back at Nissan/Infiniti & Honda/Acura
Toyota and Hyundai are leading the way as far as the Asian makes are concerned.
Honda keeps talking about their loooooooong awaited NSX vapor car....meanwhile while all this talk was going on, Toyota/Lexus keeps on cranking out the fantastic!

The styling is peculiar, to say the least.
Yes, I know it's a concept and it'll be toned down...

it's a heightened wild and raucous effect similar to when the MKIV Supra was introduced in 1993.
the FT86 is the modern-day Celica and this is the Supra.

I have to say something though. In this form, it seems a bit on the TOO WILD side. And, I don't really picture myself driving it. I think I'd much rather be driving something like a 997GT3. I do think a production model would be toned down though, but how much, it's hard to say. They are putting out some fairly wild designs these days.

I love it. Please build it, Toyota. Please!
I'm sure it'll get toned down a lot though, like how they toned down the FT-86 concept from this
to this
