I like the console too. I'm pretty sure there will be cupholders, perhaps there are but we just can't see them in the pic.

This looks more like what the Euro Corolla would look like. TOyota cannot compete with the Civic with this COrolla in the latest pics. It has to be more substabtial than that.

2007 Toyota Auris (Corolla hatchback) unveiled
From Leftlanenews...
Toyota today launched its new Auris hatchback in Europe and Japan. The new car is essentially a hatch version of the new Corolla, which has not yet been unveiled. Auris will be presented for the first time at the Bologna motor show on December 5th. UK sales will start in February 2007, in advance of other European markets, which will offer the car from next spring. Auris is also being sold in Japan, from today.
At launch it will be offered in three and five-door hatchback body styles with a choice of two gas engines (1.4 VVT-i with 97 hp and 1.6 Dual VVT-i with 122 horsepower) and three diesels (1.4 with 89 hp, 2.0 with 124 hp, and 2.2 D-4D with 175 hp), all of which meet Euro IV emissions standards. A wide choice of gearboxes will be available, too, including a six-speed manual transmission fitted as standard on the 2.0 D-4D 130 and 2.2 D-4D 180. A MultiMode system with paddle shift controls will be available as an option on the 1.4 D-4D 90 and 1.6 Dual VVT-i engines.

Yes ... an 8/10th scale Camry (well, at least that's what it looks like in the pics). This is at least 2 steps up in appearance compared to the previous gen Corolla.
I might have my GF buy this car over the TSX (and save several thousand...) She's not super-keen knowing the TSX will be redesigned a little over a year from now.

It's "lumpy" just like the Camry. I really hate that. Plus, I wish they'd done something else with the back end. It looks the same as the previous gen, but with stupid lumpy tail lights. Yuck. Not feelin' it.
