I got a call from the GM at the dealer today. The car has been allocated, should be here soon. He said since I wasnt able to go on the trip to CA, he wanted to give me some stuff for free. He wanted to do some sealant thing but I said I would rather have a 3M clear bra installed (and Opti-Coat the car myself). He said no problem, he usually has it done to the GTRs at the Nissan dealer, so he'll have his guy come in and do that for me at no charge

He also wants to do a car show thing June 3rd at the dealership. I gave in and said sure, since I know he wants to do it for the sales. Though, Im still not looking for the attention I did tell him that if the car comes in late, it may not be available since it'll be at Fortune Auto for about a week. He said we can always reschedule. But Ill be at the AZine Meet the following week

Gray, grey, tomato, potato

Thanks! Ill definitely create a thread for it (instead of taking this one over even more ), but my reviews wont be anywhere near as good as Portlands.

18x8 +45 w/ 225/40-18 tires

The one thing I hate about new cars is the rear track isnt as wide as the front, or the body swells in the rear, exaggerating the rear arches. It looks like the rear can come out another 10mm for a bit more flushness, but the front looks pretty flush as is. I do not want to run a staggered setup and introduce more understeer But I will probably be sticking with 17s, not 18s, and running a 235/40 tire.

Running a spacer still throws off the track. Ive got wheels in mind, I just need to get the car and do some measurements to be 100% sure.

I havent even gotten the car yet I should have it by the 18th at the latest.

No options list yet, but since I couldnt go to the Cali trip in April the dealer is installing a 3M clear bra at no charge. The only thing Id really want is the HomeLink, but I can buy that later and install it myself.

There are rumors circling about tons of stuff that the First 86ers are getting, but Im not even going to mention them here since who knows whats true and what isnt.

But the guy in Cali that got the first FR-S in the states got a free 5Axis Design lip kit, I want that too

Congrats. I e-mailed the local Subaru dealer (well, the only one that's not part of the evil chain) and was told that they were only allocated two BRZs which were bought on the first two days that they became available for order. The e-mail went on to say that delivery is unknown and will be between now and December.

Yea, I think theyre only sending 6k over to us from now until Dec. But next year wont be limited. The only reason its so little this year is because Toyota, being the financial backers in this, are getting the bulk of the cars manufactured.

Needs spacers front and back.

You could get away with a 235 tire and 10mm of spacing in the front and 15-20mm in the rear.

My plan is a 17x8 +38 with a 245/40 tire. But that was just eyeballing it when I saw the car in person. Stock is 17x7 +48 with 215/45s. Ill do actual measurements when I get the car to see what I can run.

A 245/45 is only 1/10th of an inch taller then stock, but Im still deciding if I want to lower the gearing with a 235/40 (2/10th of an inch shorter then stock).

Im still playing around with it though, I may just go with an 18 instead since it fills out the wheel wells a bit more. In which case Im going for a 235/35.

Havent thought about the sway bar.

Doing that would actually open my options up as well, since I could get adapters to run 5x114 wheels.

Why not go with 8.5 instead of 8in wheels? I think 18x8.5 would be great.

Is it 5x114.3??? If so come down to Charlotte to visit and we can do some wheel measuring. I have a set of 17x7.5 +40, 18x8 +38, and 18x8.5 +35 sitting in the garage we can test and take measurements with.
