I don't think the problem has anything to do with exposed cupholders. It's more the fisher-price plastic liberally used all over the interior, which includes the cupholders.

Also, it feels like they just stuck something in there with a couple cup-sized holes rather than integrating the cupholder into the center armrest.

I hate that interior. I was really looking forward to this car, but if thats the actual interior, its a huge turn off. Id gladly pay about $1-2k extra for a better interior.

looking at the interior again, I'm 99% sure thats not gonna be it.

Starting with the steering wheel, I'm sure toyota would have put buttons on there...

no symbols at all in the interior

and those seats seem to supportive for it to be stock, just saying.

Subaru 2.0-litre flat-four engine that produces around 200bhp and 170lb ft.
Very nice from only 2 litres.

Both reviews comment that the driving position is very good. That is far more important to me than the quality of plastics or appearance of the cupholders.

But if you add more power to compensate then you’ll want a turbo and bigger stoppers too, and that adds weight, and, well – that’s where the downward spiral starts, right?

I know right! They did what honda should have done with the si.

They destroyed the si it looks like.

First impressions seem to be great, I'm excited!

I wonder how they will compare this with the genesis coupe/mustang.
And all the other fwd hatchbacks.

Sure its weaker on power, but it may have enough power also.
Fun to drive>power (miata)

Only if it could accommodate 4 people nicely...
I dunno if I can see myself getting what is actually a 2 seater as a daily... thats something to be determined later though

Hmmm now does this thwart my love for the GTI definitely can't way to test drive this car

guessing you have a GTI...

thats what happens when turbos are put into cars, tuning can increase power so easily!

I think these two cars have different purposes though.
The GTI goes for the best dd out there, while it seems to be the FT-86 is going for the fun factor.

Just sayin'.

I think you'ld have lots of fun in the GTI with a stage 1 tune. The GTI is lighter than our Avant and has plenty of mods available for it.

Look ahead to what you'ld have at your disposal if you went with a GTI...

www.oemplus.com
www.ecstuning.com
www.goapr.com
www.awe-tuning.com

SO many OEM optional pieces from Europe and lots of aftermarket support too.

To be fair Honda did make the S2000 which would probably be able to keep up with this. Unfortunately for me there was no coupe option..

Also at that $23k base price it will be missing leather, xenons, and 40hp, I think the price would be closer with a few options.

It's as if Toyota and Honda reversed rolls.

Toyota/Lexus are coming out with fun cars and Honda/Acura are coming out with cars
