Suzuki Live Series Concept Vehicles

Adding a dose of exhilaration to any weekend

To explore the viability of alternative accessory packages for consumers, American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) has developed four vehicles to illustrate how its products play an integral part of consumers' lifestyles. The "Suzuki Live Series" concept vehicles personify Suzuki's recently introduced "Way of Life" brand campaign, as each vehicle has been specially designed for life enthusiasts, adventurers and thrill-seekers.

The vehicles coined "Blizzard" for snow sports enthusiasts; "Dune" for off-road enthusiasts; "Wave" for lake sports aficionados; and "Sea" for active surfers; will be on display at various auto shows and lifestyle and sporting events around the country.

Blizzard Grand Vitara

The "Blizzard" Grand Vitara is designed to fulfill the needs of people with active lifestyles focused on snow sports. With a 2.7-liter turbocharged Suzuki engine, full-time four-mode four-wheel drive system and wide grip studded snow tires, the "Blizzard" is equipped to handle just about any road condition. The Grand Vitara concept offers a dockable iPod station, an in-car video and gaming system and in-car Internet access, allowing passengers to check snow conditions on the way to the mountain. In the rear, the vehicle offers chairlift-style seating for gearing up for the slopes and removing and drying gear afterwards. The "Blizzard" is equipped with built-in glove and boot warmers and ventilated wet gear storage in the rear cargo area. The "Blizzard" also features a custom roof rack system with enclosed, backlit snowboard pods and a television camera to let the driver keep an eye on his/her snow equipment.

In September, the "Blizzard" was featured at the 7th Annual TransWorld SNOWboarding Riders' Poll Awards, which included more than 1,000 of the snowboarding industry's top professional athletes and decision makers. Following a comprehensive auto show schedule, with stops planned in Anaheim, Calif., Miami, Orlando, Fla., San Diego and Los Angeles, the "Blizzard" will join SKIING magazine's Half Pipe Jam Series and also make appearances at the Elan Dolomite On Snow Events.

Wave Grand Vitara

The "Wave" Grand Vitara offers innovative design and technology to watersports enthusiasts. The unique frame design of the "Wave" resembles a convertible SUV with all the capabilities of the all-new Grand Vitara and more. With a towing capacity of 3,000 lbs., the Grand Vitara concept is designed to pull a boat or jet skis for lake-bound enthusiasts. In addition, the "Wave" offers an in-dash GPS and navigation system to help adventurers find their way to the latest sporting event or watercraft launching spot. The "Wave" also is equipped with built-in monitors in the rear headrests for ultimate passenger enjoyment. Other features include, nautical-themed railing doors, a tailgate-friendly removable, wheeled barbeque and food cooler and rear-facing television camera to help hook up a boat trailer.

To showcase Suzuki's tailgate-friendly concept vehicle, the "Wave" kicked off a 12-market college football and NFL tailgate tour across the country in conjunction with the American Tailgating Association and Sports Illustrated. Following an action-packed tailgate schedule, the "Wave" will join the auto show circuit, with stops planned in San Diego, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Ohio, Dallas and Atlanta.

Dune Grand Vitara

The "Dune" Grand Vitara is designed for off-road enthusiasts who demand off-road capabilities. Well-equipped with 26 inches of ground clearance and a towing capacity of 3,000 lbs., the "Dune" provides enough muscle to add a huge dose of exhilaration to any weekend. The exterior features flared fenders and integrated cladding and running boards, all dressed in lightening yellow paint to match the color scheme of Suzuki ATVs. Roomy on the inside, the five-passenger "Dune" features a rear off-road gear storage and "mobile garage" work station, ideal for last-minute adjustments. The "Dune" also offers a built-in GPS and navigation system.

The "Dune" was featured at the 2005 SURFER Poll Video Awards in September and, after an appearance at SEMA in Las Vegas in early November, the Grand Vitara concept will hit the auto show circuit, with stops planned in Seattle, Indianapolis, Detroit, Chicago, Kansas City, Mo., Denver and Atlanta.

Sea Forenza Wagon

To meet the likes and needs of surf sport adventure seekers, the "Sea" Forenza Wagon is designed to appeal to those who live a good portion of their active life in the water. The interior styling of the "Sea" matches the look and feel of recreational gear, and the exterior possesses subtle performance-based elements, including a custom air intake, front fascia, driving lights and rear quarter windowless panes. The "Sea" is equipped with a custom audio system with iPod compatibility and rear subwoofer, as well as in-car Internet access, allowing passengers to check surf conditions on the way to the beach. In addition, the "Sea" offers a handheld shower wand and ventilated wet gear storage and small gear compartments. Other features include a custom roof storage rack for surfboards, wetsuit dryer and SmartPass™ Pro biometric technology for locking/unlocking the doors.

In conjunction with its surf sport theme, the "Sea" was featured at the 2005 SURFER Poll Video Awards in September. Following an active auto show schedule, with stops planned in Anaheim, Calif., Miami, Orlando, Fla., San Diego, Los Angeles, Portland, Ore., and Raleigh-Durham, N.C., the Forenza Wagon concept will join the National Surf League tour beginning in May 2006.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the reason that Grand Vitara looks like a Saturn Vue is because it essentially is one?
