well.. what do you expect? Yeah, you get a spartan interior, but instead you get a turbo, intercooler, AWD, etc. Subaru isn't in a position to be able to offer performance and fancy interiors. It's one or the other. Subaru owns a very small part of the car market and people likely aren't going to start paying 5-10k more for a premium interior.

Personally, I like their choice

Maybe in the case of imprezas, but they have other models that are more oriented for luxury where they should have better interiors. Interoolers and turbos and shit don't matter to a lot of people. AWD is a plus tho, i have to admit that especially living where we live.
I will be in the market for a older manual wagon with awd and I don't have much choice than to get a Subaru or audi. I will probably buy the Subaru but I'll still hate the interior.

I don't mind the wheels. Gap isn't a tough fix.
I do like the overall styling & the spoiler. Interior is a big improvement.

Press Release

SUBARU INTRODUCES ALL-NEW, U.S.-BUILT 2017 IMPREZA®; NEW GLOBAL PLATFORM DELIVERS MAJOR GAINS IN HANDLING PERFORMANCE, CRASH SAFETY AND RIDE COMFORT
  • Sedan and 5-Door Styles
  • New Subaru Global Platform Significantly Enhances Safety, Ride Comfort and Agility
  • Award-Winning EyeSight®, Plus New Driver Assist Technologies
  • SUBARU STARLINK® Safety and Security Features and Apps
  • New Subaru Design Language Debuts
  • 2.0-liter Boxer Engine with Direct Injection and Higher Performance
  • First Impreza to be Built in U.S.
  • New Sport Version with 18-inch Wheels, Sport Suspension and Active Torque Vectoring

NEW YORK, March 23, 2016 - Subaru of America, Inc., which has experienced eight consecutive years of sales growth, introduced the all-new 2017 Impreza 5-Door at the New York International Auto Show, joining the Impreza Sedan that had been unveiled at an event the night before. The all-new 2017 Impreza debuts the Subaru Global Platform architecture that's designed to deliver significantly higher levels of driving pleasure, agility, crash protection and ride comfort and will underpin a variety of upcoming Subaru vehicles, including hybrids. As before, every Impreza is equipped as standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, a boon to driving agility and traction and a key advantage over front-wheel drive competitors.

The roomier 2017 Impreza models also debut the brand's new design language and new driver-assist technology. Also new, multimedia features including standard Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ and standard Near Field Communication connectivity debut on Impreza. The new Impreza will be available in base, Premium, Sport and Limited trim lines when it arrives in Subaru dealerships in late 2016.

Dramatic New Look on a New Structure That's Future-Ready

Subaru's new design language puts the brand's signature hexagonal grille and hawk-eye headlights onto a more sculptural body, its athletic stance accentuated by prominent wheel arches and flowing lines. The dramatic new look carries into the cabin, with an outward-flow design that follows the front of the car. The 2017 Impreza rides on a 105.1-in. wheelbase, up 1.0-in. over the last generation Impreza. Both the Sedan and 5-Door are 1.6-in. longer than the outgoing models, and both are 1.5 in. wider. The larger dimensions create a roomier cabin, while a 0.4-in. lower height helps improve aerodynamics with a lower coefficient of drag. Although sleeker in appearance than the previous models, the 2017 Impreza Sedan and 5-Door preserve excellent all-around visibility.

The new Subaru Global Platform, together with the Boxer engine, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and EyeSight® that represent Subaru's core technologies, constitutes the basic foundation of the next generation of Subaru vehicles. Impreza's new platform incorporates numerous types of high-strength steel to significantly enhance straight-line stability, agility and ride comfort while suppressing noise, vibration and harshness to a degree not seen in the compact class. Specifically, the new platform increases rigidity of the unitized body structure by over 70 percent.

A lower center of gravity and revised suspension systems contribute to the biggest-ever leap in Subaru's performance evolution. The double-wishbone independent rear suspension mounts its rear stabilizer bar directly to the body, which helps reduce body roll by 50 percent compared to the outgoing model. Greater hazard-avoidance capability is another benefit of the Subaru Global Platform's inherent handling agility. In addition, the resolute straight-line stability that makes the 2017 Impreza more relaxing to drive is also an important constituent of the autonomous driving capability this platform can support in future Subaru vehicles.

New Impreza Sport with Active Torque Vectoring

Taking full advantage of the new stiffer platform and more powerful engine, the Impreza 2.0i Sport, now available in the Sedan as well as 5-Door, delivers a more fun-to-drive performance feel thanks to exclusive suspension tuning, 18-inch machine-finish alloy wheels and Active Torque Vectoring. Subaru aimed for a new ride/handling balance benchmark in the compact segment. The Sport also includes a new 4-way Tire Pressure Monitoring System, which is available on other models.

Exclusive exterior styling and features setting the Impreza Sport apart include standard LED daytime running lights (DRL), black-finish front grille, body-color rocker panels and turn signal side mirrors. The Impreza Sport 5-Door features gloss black rear gate trim, while the Sport Sedan has a rear trunk spoiler. Inside the Sport, unique black cloth upholstery is trimmed with red stitching, a motif that repeats for the steering wheel, gear shift, instrument panel and door trim. The instrument panel incorporates exclusive Sport gauges and a Multi-Function Display.

The Sport comes well equipped, with upgrades over the Impreza Premium that include the Subaru STARLINK® 8.0-inch touchscreen multimedia system, and a new harman/kardon® premium audio system is available. Keyless Access & Push-Button Start, aluminum pedals, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift handle and a CVT shift boot round out the Sport's enhanced standard equipment.

New Direct Injection for Higher Performance and Efficiency

A revised version of the FB 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Boxer engine gains direct fuel injection and other enhancements to boost both performance (now 152 horsepower vs. 148 before) and drivability. In highline trims, the Lineartronic® CVT (continuously variable transmission) features a 7-speed manual mode function with steering wheel paddle shifters that allow the driver to control the transmission via seven pre-set ratios.

Another Leap in Vehicle Safety

Subaru designed the 2017 Impreza to provide even higher levels of safety than the outgoing model, which was named an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK and a TOP SAFETY PICK+ when equipped with available EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. The new platform underpinning the 2017 Impreza improves crash energy absorption by 40 percent over present models.

The EyeSight® system includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Pre-Collision Braking and Lane Departure and Sway Warning, plus a Lane Keep Assist function. Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are also available. Also new are available Steering Responsive Headlights, which can illuminate curves as the vehicle steers into them, and High Beam Assist, which automatically activates and deactivates the high beam headlamps based on driving conditions. All 2017 Impreza models include as standard equipment front seat side impact airbags, side curtain airbags and a driver's knee airbag.

The 2017 Impreza adds new driver-assist technologies, including Reverse Automatic Braking and the display of steering lines for the standard rear vision camera. Reverse Automatic Braking can apply the vehicle's brakes if an obstacle is detected while reversing. A new 4-way Tire Pressure Monitoring System can detect pressure drops at individual wheels.

Four Trim Lines

The 2017 Subaru Impreza will be offered in four trim lines: 2.0i base, Premium, Sport and Limited. The 2.0i starts with an extensive roster of standard features that includes a 6.5-inch multimedia touchscreen, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™, power windows with auto up/down on both driver and passenger sides; 60/40-split fold-down rear seat; power door locks and side mirrors; multi-function display with fuel economy information; tilt and telescoping steering column; security system with engine immobilizer, carpeted floormats and more.

The Premium trim adds Subaru STARLINK® Safety and Security features, 16-inch alloy wheels, the All-Weather Package featuring heated front seats, windshield and exterior mirrors and automatic headlights. Premium 5-door Imprezas also feature standard roof rails (not available on base 5-door Impreza 2.0i Sport). Stepping up to the Premium trim also brings wider option availability, including a power moonroof and driver assist technology systems. (The Impreza Sport is described earlier in this press release.)

Subaru has elevated the Limited trim for the 2017 Impreza into more luxurious territory. The exterior looks more upscale with LED headlights and distinctive "Konoji" LED daytime running lights (DRL) and standard 17-inch machine finished alloy wheels. The Subaru Impreza also has Steering Responsive Headlights, which can illuminate curves as the vehicle steers into them. Judicious use of exterior chrome trim and turn signal side mirrors add a touch of elegance.

The Limited's leather trimmed interior features double stitching on the door armrests and instrument panel, and the 6-way power driver's seat is the first ever in an Impreza. Standard amenities include an automatic climate control system, leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter, Keyless Access & Push-Button Start and 8-inch color display. The exclusive instrument panel features white gauge cluster illumination, and new harman/kardon® premium audio is available in the Impreza for the first time. Models equipped with EyeSight technology also include High Beam Assist, which automatically activates and deactivates the high beam headlamps based on driving conditions. Lastly, the available navigation system now features maps provided by TomTom.

Subaru STARLINK® Means Multimedia and Connectivity

Subaru STARLINK® Multimedia systems offer the latest in digital music playing, Bluetooth® wireless capability, iPod® control, smartphone integration and more. The display screen also provides the display for the standard rear vision camera, and the top-level system includes navigation.

The available Subaru STARLINK® Safety and Security Connected Services give the 2017 Impreza one of the industry's most affordable telematics options. Depending on the package selected, features can include SOS Emergency Assistance, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification, Maintenance Notifications, Monthly Vehicle Health Report and Diagnostic Alerts, Stolen Vehicle Recovery Service, Vehicle Security Alarm Notification, Remote Lock/Unlock, Remote Horn and Lights and Remote Vehicle Locator.

And we’re really disturbed. Is this drop-top WRX madness or genius?

“Experience driving perfection in the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX!” reads the jolly advert.

“With less than 10,000 miles on the odometer, this four-door sedan prioritises comfort, safety and convenience,” it earnestly continues. “Subaru made sure to keep road-handling and sportiness at the top of its priority list.”

For 139 words, the advert extols the virtues of an Impreza WRX saloon, but fails to touch on the one defining feature of the specific car it has for sale: it’s a flipping convertible.

So we don’t know how the soft top of this four-door works, who made it, how much time and money was invested in its mechanism and materials… important information when it’s an aftermarket rather than factory job.

We suspect “comfort, safety and convenience” weren’t prioritised in the chopping job that allowed for that roof to be fitted, though. We also suspect “road-handling and sportiness” weren’t at the top the priority list.

Want it? Good news, as it’s for sale in Manchester – the American one, in New Hampshire – for $26,967. That’s about £21,000. Given there are no rally-bred sports saloon convertible rivals to compare it to, we’re not sure if that’s a bargain or not…

The quirky Japanese hatchback is your left-field alternative to a Focus or Astra

Internet, say hello to the new Subaru Impreza. The left-field alternative for people (mainly agriculturalists) who see the likes of the Ford Focus, VW Golf and Vauxhall Astra as a bit too high street.

If we’re being honest, the new all-wheel-drive hatchback doesn’t look a whole heap different to the one it replaces. There are some new, sculptured creases down the side, and some squintier headlights, but it’s otherwise business as usual from Subaru’s designers. It’s actually the same car that’s been on sale in America for the last six months and that we first saw at the New York Motor Show.

The interesting stuff, though, lies beneath. It’s our first taste of Subaru’s all new platform, one which will form the basis of all manner of hatchbacks, saloons, estates and SUVs. If its maker is to be believed, it offers the best of all worlds: tidier handling, higher comfort levels and less noise and vibration.

And while it can house all manner of modern powertrains, hybrids included, this latest-gen Impreza sticks initially with Subaru’s tried-and-tested combination of a four-cylinder boxer petrol engine and symmetrical all-wheel drive.

It’s longer and wider than before, though, at 10mm lower, it has a better drag coefficient than its predecessor. And Subaru is claiming a dropped centre of gravity and revised suspension contribute to its “biggest ever leap forward” in dynamic ability.

Safety is high on the agenda too, with Subaru’s Eyesight technology suite on board. As well as the predictable bunch of lane assist and blind spot detection gubbins, its automatic braking system will function while reversing, as well as travelling forwards.

And to the delight of anyone who’s used a Subaru interior well, ever, there’s a new infotainment system that sweeps the dashboard of most of its buttons, and whose appearance resembles most smartphones. It looks a big step on.

In the UK, just two engines are being served up. Both are four-cylinder boxer petrol units, the first being a 1.6-litre with 112bhp and 111lb ft, the second a peppier 2.0-litre unit with 154bhp and 145lb ft. Both engines feed power to a CVT gearbox, and all four wheels. Although CVT is our least favoured transmission option, Subaru’s Lineartronic ‘box is actually one of the better ones, as a damper has been added to help smooth out power delivery and reduce the whining rev surge some CVTs suffer from.

If you’re a left-field hatchback fan or farmer, you’ll be able to get the new Impreza later this year when it goes on sale. It’ll probably stay true to the price of the outgoing car (£18,995) which’ll make it the meat in the Focus and Astra pricing sandwich.

https://www.topgear.com/car-news/tok...mpreza-special

Well, WRX STI special, obviously. There’s a new BRZ STI, too…

The Tokyo motor show may be about all that futuristic stuff – electric, hydrogen and autonomous cars – but Subaru has still found time to stick a big wing and more power in a WRX STI. Thank the lord.

So while the centrepiece of Subaru’s stand is its next-gen WRX, this WRX STI S208 NBR Challenge Package sits proudly alongside. The NBR in its name is no doubt a nod to this Nürburgring-beating special, but its numbers aren’t quite as mighty.

The brief stats are thus: just 450 will be made, each with a 2.0-litre boxer engine producing 324bhp and 318lb ft. Compared to the old S207 it has more power and a lower centre of gravity, thanks to its carbon roof. Rather spoilsportingly, there are no 0-60mph or top speed numbers, but expect sub-5.0secs and 160mph-plus respectively.

Over a regular STI there’s quicker steering and many suspension improvements, with adjustable damping and active torque-vectoring. And carbon ahoy if you tick all the options boxes, the humongous rear wing most notable. You can only have a manual gearbox (hurrah!) while there’s lots of Alcantara and pink detailing inside.

If you’re smitten, then you’d better live in Japan. All are being sold there, with prices starting at 6,264,000 yen, or about £42,000. You’ve a choice of three colours: white, traditional rally blue or this ‘Cool Grey Khaki’, which looks more than a little like the colour deployed by Hyundai’s new i30 N.

A colour also applied liberally to the BRZ STI Sport, the new range-topping BRZ in Japan (and Japan only, obviously). It doesn’t get the WRX’s 324bhp engine – shame – instead sticking with its base car’s oft-maligned boxer four, albeit with 204bhp, a smidge more than we get in the UK.

To warrant the STI badge there’s new Sachs suspension components, 18in wheels with proper performance tyres (rather than slippery eco ones) and a mixture of leather and Alcantara in ‘Bordeaux Red’ inside. Lovely.

At £24,000, it also looks startling value beside both the Impreza S208 and our UK-spec BRZ. Aren’t the Japanese lucky?

$62k in Japan for that?? Good decision not to bring it to the US because no one will buy it.

https://www.topgear.com/car-news/sub...leaving-europe

As well as the UK, the fast Impreza is pulling out of Europe

So, news of the sun setting on the Subaru WRX STI isn’t exactly fresh. We learned a little while ago that the Final Edition special will be the last one sold in the UK.

A Subaru spokesman has now confirmed the WRX STI is pulling out of Europe all together. Call it WRX-it. Perhaps.

“The 18MY WRX STI is the last model that will be launched in Europe,” Subaru’s head of European sales, David Dello Stritto, told us. “The discontinuation of the model is applicable to Europe only.”

Which suggests other markets - Japan and the US, most likely - will get whatever sports saloon is spun from the bold Viziv Performance Concept. But we won’t. At least not for a while.

“Recent media reports stating a future WRX STI model will come to Europe with a new hybrid powertrain are purely speculative,” Stritto continued. “We have denied this information. There simply is no information available at this stage on a potential re-launch of the model in Europe.”

So what will Subaru - who once had the Impreza Turbo right at the very core of its range and brand image - work on instead?

“Our current priorities centre on maximising the marketability of competitive products that will ensure the brand stays compliant with EU’s tight emission regulations.”

That suggests a couple of things. One, SUVs are taking centre stage. Two, it’s the EU’s emission regulations that have stopped the WRX STI from continuing here for a little while yet. Perhaps when the UK is no longer part of the EU, we can restart the petition to bring the STI back…

In the world of Subaru’s road-going rally machines, there are plenty of uber-desirable limited editions: the 22b WRX STI, the Impreza WRX STI Spec C Type RA-R and the Subaru Cosworth Impreza STi CS400, to name a few. Sadly, the U.S. hasn’t seen much in terms of these special Subies, which isn’t that crazy when you consider we didn’t get the Impreza WRX until 2001.

In 2018, however, the drought is ending with the 2018 Subaru WRX STI Type RA -- the first of Subaru’s RA models to see U.S. pavement. There's a lot of hype to live up to, and meeting fan expectations is no small feat. But Subaru took a different route than might have been expected here. Instead of massaging more power out of its EJ257 boxer mill and trying to make waves with output numbers, this STI RA is more focused on being a balanced and composed track weapon that won’t make you suffer on the roads.

Rather than ripping out the STI’s interior and giving you a super-fun-to-drive limited edition with no frills, Subaru actually slotted the RA above its already well-equipped Limited models. That means the driver gets features like a power Recaro seat and a 7-inch multimedia screen that helps you easily switch between podcasts during your (admittedly exciting) commute.

Comforts aside, there is weight savings -– a sports version wouldn’t be complete without a nod to reduced mass. Compared to the WRX STI Limited, the Type RA sheds 68 pounds. The savings comes from a carbon-fiber top panel, lightweight gold-painted BBS wheels and by ditching the spare tire.

Subaru also ditched its traditional wing for the lightweight carbon-fiber version seen stuck to the STI Type RA’s rear deck lid. Along with the new rear wing is a new front splitter to guide the air around the car and help it stick to the track. A retuned set of Bilstein dampers only adds to the effect.
The Subaru WRX STI Type RA is perfectly at home on a racetrack.
The Execution

When an aggressive trim of an already sporty car only gets a 5-hp bump (to 310 hp total), you've got to stop and scratch your head. Hell, you can make more than that just plugging in one of the many aftermarket flash tuners.

That said, it looks like Subaru spent more time making the 2.5-liter boxer under the hood of the Type RA more durable than the 305-hp H4 in the regular WRX STI. Responsible for compressing the air and fuel mixture is a set of new, reinforced pistons. Expecting lots of time on the track, Subaru went with sodium-filled exhaust valves to better manage higher heat. There’s also a higher flowing air filter, a bigger airbox and a new exhaust system. Oh yeah, and a new ECU tune.

On the road, you feel less of the 5-hp increase near redline and more of the retuned twist on the lower side of the tach. Some of that extra torque shows up south of 3,000 rpm, which, when combined with the revised transmission gearing, makes the Type RA feel noticeably quicker than the regular STI. Still, like the STI, this Subaru is much happier with the tach swinging wildly to the right as the turbocharged EJ mill doesn’t really hit its stride until 4,000 rpm.

Revised gearing isn't the only change the Type RA's six-speed manual transmission receives: The car uses a short-throw shifter that makes the regular STI’s gear throws seem long and rubbery. The only complaint about the Type RA’s shifter is that it’s a little notchy, a problem most short-throw shifters face to some degree.

For slowing down that extra oomph, you'll get the same brakes you’ll find on the STI: six-piston front and four-piston rear Brembo calipers clamping 13.4-inch front and 12.8-inch rear rotors. These rotors are ventilated and cross-drilled on all four corners, which help keep the brakes cool and free from any unwanted gasses. After a day of heavy braking and hot lapping a small racetrack in California, the non-ceramic brakes still stopped well with good pedal feel and no hint of fading. More importantly -- to some of us, at least -- the cross-drilled rotors and massive silver calipers look undeniably cool.

The power, shifting and braking would all be worthless on a track if the Type RA’s chassis flexed and wallowed around every corner. Expecting more stress, the engineers at Subaru added some reinforcing to the STI’s stamping for 2018. The carbon-fiber roof also makes the body stronger, as well as lighter, and better manages torsional load, according to the folks at Subaru. In the real world, the Type RA feels more rigid than the regular STI while throwing it around corners or during heavy braking.

The revised Bilstein suspension works well on the track giving hints of nose dive and body roll without slinging you around the car. Unlike other hot compacts, the STI Type RA’s suspension also has surprisingly easy to deal with characteristics on the road. For those that think the Ford Focus RS is jarring, the STI Type RA might be the car for you. However, if you’re looking for the ultra-firm experience of an extremely rigid suspension, you might want to look elsewhere.

The WRX STI Type RA is one of the last cars on rolling off an assembly line with hydraulic power steering assisting your arms as you toss it around corners. That means that this special Subie gives as much road feedback as you'd want through the steering wheel; while cornering, the Type RA has a good amount of weight and resistance to let you know just how much grip you have left.

The Takeaway

The WRX STI Type RA is, by design, a limited-edition rarity; dedicated Subaru fans will no doubt champ at the bit to grab the keys to these 500 models.

However, it probably won’t be the kid down the street’s replacement for his bugeye given its nearly 50 grand sticker price. That’s not factoring in any sort of dealer markups, which we imagine will added on top of that sticker, at least early on. You've got to be a dedicated Subaru fan with a substantial stack of cash to actually take one home.

The price tag gives a potential buyer a lot of options, but the car is perfectly tailored for its fanatical niche. What sets the Type RA apart from the comparably priced Camaro SS 1E coupes, Audi S4s and BMW 340i xDrives of the world is that this Subie is special, and not just in the sense that it’s got an extra badge slapped on the trunk lid. It's an enhanced version of a supremely enjoyable (and more affordable) car, but it's also a bridge to other high-end Subarus that came before it.

American enthusiasts were never given the chance to experience those, but times are changing. Like the Ford Focus RS and Honda Civic Type R, which were also forbidden fruit until recently, the STI Type RA is proof that we've developed an appetite for expensive but worthwhile sport compacts.

Standard trim 2019 WRX models begin at $27,195.

Priced from $29,495, the 2019 WRX Premium now comes standard with the STARLINK 7.0” Multimedia Plus system with a 7-inch high-resolution touchscreen; smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Aha, Pandora and STARLINK Cloud Apps; Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity and audio streaming; voice activated controls for phone; Near Field Communication; AM/FM stereo; single-disc CD player; SiriusXM All Access Radio and Travel Link (subscriptions required); and rear vision camera. The Performance Package is competitively price at $2,050 and offered exclusively on 6-speed manual transmission WRX Premium.

The 750 WRX Premium Series.Gray vehicles are available exclusively with the 6-speed manual transmission. The model offers a Cool Gray Khaki exterior with exclusive Crystal Black Silica badging and foldable exterior mirrors as well as 18-inch alloy wheels with black finish. The Series.Gray WRX debuts at $32,595 and is based on the WRX Premium that includes the Performance Package with Ultrasuede-trimmed Recaro seats, 8-way power driver’s seat, JURID front brake pads and moonroof delete. It also adds LED Steering Responsive Headlights, LED fog lights and Keyless Access with Push-Button Start.

The EAM uses dual LED indicators to display EyeSight status and alerts on the windshield, allowing the driver to see them without diverting eyes from the road. In addition to Keyless Access with Push Button Start, the Limited offers automatic LED headlight low and high beam height adjustment control as well as auto-on/off headlights linked with windshield wiper operation.

WRX STI for 2019
Powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged BOXER engine, the WRX STI increases horsepower to 310 with the help of a new air intake and high flow performance exhaust. A retuned ECU and stronger pistons also contribute to the increased engine performance. The WRX STI brings rally-bred performance technology to the road with Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Standard handling technologies include Active Torque Vectoring and Multi-Mode Vehicle Dynamics Control. The 2019 WRX STI pricing begins at $36,595.

The WRX STI standard trim is equipped with the STARLINK 7.0” Multimedia Plus system and the Limited trim is upgraded to the 7.0" Multimedia Navigation system. Additional highlights to the WRX STI include an STI Sport Design instrument cluster with LCD, Steering Responsive Headlights (SRH), auto-on/off headlights linked with wiper operation and Welcome Lighting. WRX STI also has auto LED low and high beam height adjustment control.

New for 2019 is the limited production of 250 WRX STI Series.Gray models. The model offers a Cool Gray Khaki exterior, exclusive Crystal Black Silica badging and foldable exterior mirrors as well as 19-inch alloy wheels with black finish. The Brembo® brake calipers come in silver finish with black STI logo. The interior features black Ultrasuede with Carbon Black Leather bolster and Ultrasuede steering wheel with red stitching. Handling for the WRX STI Series.Gray is upgraded with Bilstein® STI sport-tuned suspension featuring Bilstein dampers for the inverted-strut front suspension and double wishbone rear suspension. The limited edition also includes Recaro Seats with 8-way power driver’s seat and Keyless Access with Push-button start. The WRX STI Series.Gray is priced at $39,695.

All models feature heated exterior mirrors, dual USB ports in the center console, rear seat armrest with cup holders and off-delay for the audio system. The WRX STI also offers Recaro seats (standard on STI Limited, optional for standard trim). For greater versatility, all WRX and WRX STI models feature roof rack mounting brackets.

Definitely thought some changes were in the works. Was poking around fueleconomy.gov earlier this week & they had the 2019 WRX listed with a AM-S6 trans, not CVT. Looks like a misprint
A DCT WRX could be fun.
