For as laid back as Subaru likes to portray itself, their comms and PR departments are pretty uptight. Back when the new WRX first came out, I posted a link to a another page that had motortrend or c&d article that got leaked detailing the new car’s specs. I promptly received a very aggressive phone call from Michael McHale himself accusing me of stealing and lying when I said I don’t work for MT and that he should be looking for the leak himself, not someone who relinked to another page that posted a picture of the article in question...an article that got “leaked” because some stores had placed that month’s edition on newstands a few days early. I never even got an apology from that guy.

tldr their corporate environment is no fun and leans toward ahole-ism.

https://www.motor1.com/news/450583/s...t-turbo-japan/

The Subaru Forester buyers can now get the crossover with a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine. Before you get too excited, the new offering is only available in Japan at the moment.

Internally, Subaru refers to the 1.8-liter mill as the CB18. The powerplant features dual overhead camshafts and direct injection In the Forester, it produces 174 horsepower (130 kilowatts) and 221 pound-feet (300 Newton-meters) of torque, which is the same output as in the new Levorg wagon.

The 1.8-liter powerplant is available in the Forest Sport. The model also uses a CVT gearbox and all-wheel drive. Subie tunes it with specific damper and coil spring settings. The outside has a black grille and 18-inch wheels with a dark metallic finish. Inside, there's a mix of ultra-suede and leather upholstery.

The Forester Sport retails for 3,289,000 yen ($31,400.22 at current exchange rates) after Japan's 10 percent consumption tax.

Motor1.com reached out to Subaru of America to find out if there's any chance the company would bring this turbocharged Forester to the US. Unfortunately, the automaker does not comment on future products.

When Subaru introduced the latest generation of the Forester in the US for the 2019 model year. It adopted the Subaru Global Platform, but the automaker didn't bring the turbocharged engine over to the new model, like the previous one. The only powertrain choice was a 2.5-liter boxer four-cylinder making 182 horsepower (136 kilowatts) and 176 pound-feet (239 Newton-meters) of torque.

The latest model has proven very popular for Subaru. As of September 2020, the company has delivered 134,082 units of the Forester in the US this year. This is up 2.0 percent year-over-year, which is impressive given the tough yearwith the COVID-19 shutdown.

Not much rteason to offer it here in the US.
Probably for countries that base registration/insurance partially on displacement & this would be an easier bill to handle compared to the 2.0 or 2.5 mills.

The Subaru Forester is headed for the first facelift of its latest generation. New spy photos of a lightly camouflaged Forester tell us that we should expect some light updates for Subaru’s hot-selling crossover.

One item not totally covered in these photos is the grille. Instead of the horizontal slats we get on the current Forester, this one has a honeycomb design that gives us flashes of Audi Sport. It’d be a departure from the friendly and boring face the Forester is stuck with currently, and while there’s nothing sporty about how it drives, the look would inject some attitude into the front end. The camouflage covers the whole front of the car, so we expect the Forester will likely get a new front bumper and a revised foglight cutout design in the corners. We can make out what look to be non-production foglights in the inserts — those will be replaced with production units as Subaru gets closer to setting this update loose.

It’s not clear through the camo, but Subaru could also be prepping some larger black plastic cladding on the fenders and lower door area. The raised sections of camouflage are larger than they are on the current car and are also more square in shape. That could theoretically give the Forester a more rugged look. There’s a modicum of disguise going on out back, but most of it is uncovered. The lower rear fascia near the exhaust is sporting a massaged design with those three raised cutouts — it was just a straight piece of trim previously. Nothing looks changed with the pronged taillights, and the badging is all covered up with black tape.

If we had to guess, this Forester is likely a 2022 model year vehicle. We got all the details for the 2021 Forester a short time ago, and the 2019 model year was the first of a new generation. Three years and a facelift is regular timing, so there’s a good chance this updated Forester is revealed partway through 2021. There’s always the chance that Subaru brings back a turbocharged engine in an XT model to compete with some of its quicker rivals, but expect the 2.5-liter flat-four to remain the standard engine.

If only the Forester had the same level of interior refinement/features as the Outback.
Sadly, it seems to split the middle between the OB & Crosstrek, unless you get a Touring, which then limits you to the brown interior.

It really does split the middle, we were surprised when we were looking. Always thought the Forester was bigger than the OB but it's not the case haha.

The couple (both Limiteds 2016 & 17, IIRC) I drove when we were considering getting out of the C, just felt a lot cheaper when compared to an 'equivalent' OB.
Didn't feel as solid on the road & also seemed a step behind on the tech front by comparison.

Haven't had any seat time in the current-gen.

Forester has always been based on the Impreza/Crosstrek platform, while the Outback is a jacked up version of the Legacy wagon; which explains their difference in size and 'feel'. Think CRV vs Accord Crosstour.

A refreshed Subaru Forester has launched in Japan. It's almost certain that this facelift previews what we can expect when the popular compact crossover gets its mid-generational update in North America, as the Forester Wilderness teasers have shown similar cues.

The new face looks quite a bit stronger than the frankly rather amorphous mug of the current Forester. Redesigned, squared-off headlights gain some definition, with DRL brows that point towards a new, more angular grille. Beneath them, some "cheekbones" not only give the front more character, but may protect the headlights slightly better in minor parking lot scrapes.

New fog lamp housings are better integrated with the contours of the bumper cover. Some chrome (or black, depending on the trim level) ridges add some style to the visage as well. Overall, it makes the car seem better designed, as opposed to having a bunch of random shapes working against each other.

The rear appears to have fewer updates. The taillights and tailgate both seem to retain the same shape. However, the black "diffuser" area and silver trim below the body-colored area of the bumper cover appear to have been reshaped with more thought-out contours.

Likewise, the interior does not seem to have changed dramatically. Even so, we can't be sure that the Japan-market interior will translate entirely over to the U.S., steering wheel location notwithstanding.

Notably, however, the upcoming Forester Wilderness will likely use this facelifted model as its base. Note the shape of the grille from the Wilderness teaser released last week. The hood's cut lines are located above the outermost corners of the grille, just like the new JDM Forester's. The current model, on the other hand, has cut lines located directly on said corners.

This would make sense, as we know the Wilderness model will have a redesigned front bumper for improved approach angle (likely to match a similarly changed rear bumper, but we cannot verify yet) and updated grille as well. It wouldn't make sense for Subaru to design these new bits for only a short period on the market before a facelift.

The new look gives the Forester a bit more character. The outgoing face was shapeless enough that it was quickly getting lost among the rapid proliferation of similarly designed crossovers (not to mention the previous-generation model). With the Forester Wilderness getting a debut September 2, we expect the updated Forester to debut around the same time.

Subaru of America, Inc. announced pricing on the 2022 Forester compact SUV, it's most popular model. For 2022, the Forester introduces the rugged Forester Wilderness™: the newest model in the Wilderness family. The fifth-generation Forester also receives a redesigned front fascia along with new safety and convenience features.

The 2022 Forester will be offered in six trim levels when it arrives at Subaru retailers in October 2021: Base, Premium, Sport, all-new Wilderness, Limited, and Touring.

For 2022, Forester is the latest model to join the adventure-ready Wilderness family. The new rugged trim level combines Subaru's renowned Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with a specially revised drivetrain, standard X-MODE, elevated 9.2-inch ground clearance, and exclusive wheels with all-terrain tires. The Subaru Forester Wilderness also offers unique and functional exterior and interior appointments.

The entire 2022 Forester lineup receives a bolder new look with a redesigned front fascia, grille, headlights and fog light covers, with each change element varying to match the character of each trim level.

The 2022 Forester also comes standard with the latest version of EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. The enhanced system improves overall performance and operates under a broader range of conditions thanks to a wider field of view and improved control software. For the Premium with option package, and all higher trim levels, EyeSight includes new Automatic Emergency Steering. The new feature works in conjunction with the Pre-Collision Braking System to assist with steering control to help avoid a collision at speeds less than 50 mph.

As in prior model years, all Forester models include seven airbags: driver and front passenger frontal airbags, side curtain airbags and side pelvis/torso airbags, as well as a driver's knee airbag. Forester has been named an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety TOP SAFETY PICK+ for 3 years running (2019-2021).

Forester's legendary versatility is also improved for 2022 with a new ladder-type roof rail design. The improved rail system offers a higher dynamic load capacity (220 lb. vs. 176 lb.) and an 800-lb static load limit (vs. 700 lb.), allowing safe use of a roof-top tent. Helpful tie-down locations have also been integrated into the rails.

Inside, two additional utility hooks have been added to the roof of the rear cargo area and a brighter LED interior dome lamp with off-delay is now standard.

All Forester models are powered by a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine teamed with a Lineartronic® CVT and Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. The direct-injection engine produces 182 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque. The Forester is a highly efficient SUV, delivering up to 33 mpg EPA-estimated highway fuel economy. The compact SUV also offers up to 3,000-lb. towing capacity and features standard Trailer Stability Assist.

Building on the extensive feature content in the Premium trim, the new Subaru Forester Wilderness uniquely adds a slew of exclusive mechanical, design, and functional enhancements for added capability on the roads and trails less traveled. Critically, the rugged new model preserves the Forester's renowned blend of SUV capability and car-like ride and handling. The Forester Wilderness has a starting price of $32,820.

Exclusive chassis suspension components give the 2022 Forester Wilderness 9.2-inch ground clearance, a half-inch increase over the other Forester models, which already had among the highest in their segment. Longer coil springs and shock absorbers provide the added road clearance, while special tuning helps maintain the Forester's exceptional ride and handling performance with the increased height.

The Subaru Forester Wilderness comes equipped with Yokohama GEOLANDAR® all-terrain tires for increased traction on muddy or gravel roads. Mounted on exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels in matte black finish, the tires are embossed with raised white letters. A standard full-size tire is stored under the cargo the area, giving owners confidence while on the trails.

To visually communicate the more capable off-road performance, the Forester Wilderness adds exclusive styling with all-new front fascia with bold hexagonal front grille, larger wheel arch cladding, front skid plate, unique hexagonal LED fog lights and an anti-glare hood decal in matte-black finish.

Numerous exterior and interior details, including water resistant StarTex® seating surfaces, make the Subaru Forester Wilderness especially suited to carrying outdoors gear, even when wet or muddy. The ladder-type roof rack has a dynamic load capacity to 220 lb., and can support up to 800 lb. when parked, a capacity increase that allows for larger roof tents.

A single option package is available for the 2022 Wilderness that includes SUBARU STARLINK® 8.0-inch Multimedia Navigation system, Harman Kardon® premium sound system, and a Power Rear Gate. The option package has a MSRP of $1,850.

There are millions of acres of dedicated wilderness in the United States – including the mass expanse that is Alaska. Oregon only makes up a small percentage of that untouched acreage by comparison, but with gorgeous peaks like Mount Hood dotting the skyline, painted with high-desert deciduous forests, the Beaver State still offered up plenty of opportunities to get lost in nature while driving the new 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness Edition.

Following in the treads of the Outback with the same name, the Forester Wilderness is tougher than your average crossover. Think of this as Subaru's answer to the Ford Bronco Sport. It gets new suspension bits with a proper lift and improved off-road angles, plus a revised transmission that yields more low-end torque – better for climbing rocks – and extra cladding on the exterior to help fend off nicks and scratches.

Although this is only the second option into the Wilderness series, Subaru promises a whole range of tougher products down the line; we expect everything from the Crosstrek to the Ascent to wear the badge down the line. For now, the Forester Wilderness is our favorite of the duo, proving its mettle on some of the toughest trails Central Oregon has to offer.

Every 2022 Subaru Forester includes angular new headlights, a sharper grille, and fresh fog lamps as part of a substantial facelift. The Wilderness model, like the Outback, wears a daunting amount of body cladding on the front end that extends up from the running board and connects with the headlights and grille. That cladding even juts out from the body in some places like a Xenomorph trying to escape the sheet metal. It's... odd.

But beyond the overkill cladding, the exclusive Geyser Blue paint looks sharp, as do the 17-inch black wheels wrapped in bulky Yokohama Geolandar off-road rubber. A copper-colored Forester logo lines the side skirts, and a trio of neat-looking “Subaru Wilderness” badges sit just below the side mirrors and on the rear hatch. And the roof rails are larger and studier here too, designed to carry up to 220 pounds on the move or 800 pounds when parked – perfect for the roof-mounted tent crowd.

The copper-colored accents and “Wilderness” motifs from the exterior carry over to the cabin. The former trim pieces dot the steering wheel, shifter, and dash, while the logo is stitched in the headrests and atop the rubber floor mats. A waterproof StarTex material covers the seats, and while it's far from real cowhide, it's nice and cushy nonetheless. Plus, the seats offer great support over long distances.

The touchscreen options inside are the same as last year: Base, Premium, and Sport models get a standard 6.5-inch display, while the Limited, Touring, and Wilderness models don the larger 8.0-inch unit. Each screen comes with Subaru's Starlink infotainment system with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard across the board and navigation available for an extra $1,850. We had no issues using this setup; the home screen is clean, the graphics are crisp, and it responds to touch quickly.

The Wilderness model does don a few trim-specific surprises that you won't find on other Forester models, like a Wilderness logo on startup, custom graphics, and an X-Mode off-road display with a roll and pitch indicator, which we played with later in the day once we hit the tough stuff.

Powering this Forester is an unmodified version of the brand's 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, good for a modest 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet, paired to a continuously variable transmission with all-wheel drive. Nothing about this powertrain is overwhelmingly impressive – in fact, the lack of oomph had us longing for a turbo. The setup offered just enough grunt to get the Forester up to speed on the highway.

One thing that did stand out was the modified CVT. Same as in the Outback Wilderness, Subaru's addition of a pressure sensor helps drive more low-end torque for better give, yielding a final drive ratio of 4:11 compared to 3:70 in the standard Forester. It's noticeably better than the base model's CVT, with better pull off the line and less whining up top.

Beyond that, the Forester Wilderness is more than just a CUV with butch looks. With a best-in-class 9.2 inches of ground clearance, the Forester Wilderness happily skips over obstacles. Compared to the standard model's 8.7 inches of lift, this Forester rises well above most traditional crossovers, even beating ruggedized alternatives like the Ford Bronco Sport (8.8 inches), Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk (8.8 inches), and Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road (8.6 inches).

Longer coil springs and bigger shock absorbers contribute to the Forester's newfound height, giving it better off-road angles of 23.5 degrees on approach and 25.4 degrees upon departure. Those aren’t as good as the Bronco Sport's 30.4-degree approach angle or 33.1-degree departure angle, admittedly, but they’re solid nonetheless.

Our drive route started near beautiful Bend, Oregon, and took us onto the highway, past the world's last Blockbuster Video, and onto some genuinely tough stretches of rocks and dirt near Mount Jefferson. Part of the route included a rocky incline where we’d be able to put that new, higher ground clearance to the test, as well as some of the trim-specific features that you only get on the Wilderness model, like the front-facing camera and updated X-Mode off-road mode.

Unsurprisingly, the Forester Wilderness – helped by the new CVT, grabby off-road tires, and active X-Mode – scurried up the steep incline with ease. The transmission only whined a bit in protest, and the naturally aspirated engine delivered enough grunt to get to Forester to the top. Activating the front-facing camera at the crest helped us over the hump, even if the image was tiny and blurry – a problem we also experienced when driving the Outback Wilderness. But with the help of a spotter and the updated X-Mode with the baked-in hill descent control active, the Forester effortlessly descended down on the other side.

The longer, rockier path near Mount Jefferson later in the same day gave us the opportunity to see how the Forester Wilderness performed on a genuine off-road trail. Spoiler alert: This little CUV is sublime in the tough stuff. It bounces over sharp rocks with its tougher tires and glides over undulations without feeling too harsh. And although we admit the engine is a bit underpowered on the road, the combination of a naturally aspirated engine with improved low-end torque gives the Forester Wilderness the perfect amount of grunt for powering through the trail at lower speeds.

With the Forester Wilderness thoroughly covered in dirt at that point, we hit the pavement and headed back toward the hotel. Compared to the Outback Wilderness, which had some uncouth rolly qualities on the road, the Forester was an absolute charmer in this respect. Even with the taller ride height and thicker tires, overall comfort only felt incrementally less cushy than the traditional Forester. There wasn't a ton of road noise, either, as you might experience in the Cherokee Trailhawk or RAV4 TRD Off-Road, and the compact wheelbase made it easy (and fun) to fling around quickly.

The Forester also comes with a number of standard active safety features as part of the brand’s EyeSight suite. Adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and lane-keep assist made it a breeze on the highway after a long day of intense off-roading.

For just $33,945 to start (including $1,125 in destination fees), the Subaru Forester Wilderness Edition is a lot of crossover for not a lot of cash. Comparably, the Ford Bronco Sport starts at $27,215 plus $1,495 in destination fees, but an equally equipped Badlands model costs $33,360 to start. Meanwhile, the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk costs $34,755 and the Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road asks $36,080.

By expanding its Wilderness Edition line to the Forester, Subaru now gives adventurous customers an exciting new option that’s better in a lot of ways than the Outback before. This is the toughest Forester – by a long shot – and a genuinely capable CUV compared to rugged alternatives like the Bronco Sport and Cherokee Trailhawk. The Subaru Forester has always been a solid adventure vehicle, but now the Wilderness Edition allows you to kiss the beaten path goodbye for good.

$39.5k for a B Sport Badlands, loaded up with the Premium, Tow, & CoPilot 360 pkgs, worth the extra $4k.
After rebates & such, might not be too far off OTD on the Wilderness.

It'll be mid-22 or early 23 before the 'Bu gets replaced, We'll see what's available around then. Curious if Ford is going to Badlands/'Raptor' the Maverick.

You're probably a lot more likely to get one of the subies at a discount than a B Sport badlands.

No way they Raptor the Maverick, maybe on the Badlands but also probably not.

If you're not going to off road (or soft road as it is) this then I wouldn't bother with any of these as it just makes it more sucky for where you actually will drive.

My mind changes from week to week, so who knows what I'll be in the mood for when it's time.
The B Sport or Maverick have my current attention, just don't like the brown interior on the Maverick Lariat. A Badlands Mav would definitely have my interest.
New Ranger is getting some Maverick styling & doesn't look bad either.

The 2.0EB AWD Mav could probably just tow the Rotus on my dad's trailer, get in some auto-x without worrying about being stranded if something breaks
Possibly do better than the 10MPG his 6.2 Denali gets, but would probably want trailer brakes too.

Subaru of America, Inc. revealed the all-new 2025 Forester at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show. The sixth-generation SUV offers the most advanced features, modern design, and improved ride comfort in its history. The 2025 Forester comes standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Subaru's award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist Technology and makes available a tablet-style 11.6-inch SUBARU STARLINK® Multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. The Forester has been one of the bestselling Subaru vehicles for nearly 30 years, with more than 2.6 million vehicles sold in the U.S. alone.

The 2025 Forester will be available in Base, Premium, Sport, Limited and Touring trim levels when it arrives in Subaru retailers nationwide in spring 2024.

All-New Exterior and Interior Design

The 2025 Subaru Forester has an all-new, sleek, contemporary design aesthetic while retaining the trademark looks of its classic, rugged predecessors. The front of the vehicle features a bold grille that merges into the compact LED headlights and creates an integrated shield effect. The all-new fascia also debuts the updated Subaru star cluster emblem. The SUV's bold shoulder lines emphasize height and strength, while its prominent wheel arches highlight its off-road capability. Front, side, and rear underguards are standard with color finish according to trim level. The steep rear glass offers increased cargo capacity.

Several functional aerodynamic improvements enhance the SUV's performance and stability. An air outlet at the trailing edge of the front wheel opening allows air to exit from the wheel well more freely, contributing to reduced lift on the front tires and improved driving stability.

The interior of the all-new Forester features a prominent multimedia system with integrated center information display. Contoured dash elements and textured trim pieces are intelligently designed to avoid visible damage from daily use. A dark headliner also hides scuffs from loading/unloading passengers and cargo. Strategically designed pillars and generous glass area ensure an excellent all-around view from the inside. Rear dark-tint privacy glass is standard.

Structure and Safety

The Subaru Global Platform for the 2025 Forester has been enhanced with 10% stiffer torsional rigidity. A full inner frame construction with stronger welding techniques and additional structural adhesive (from approximately 26.2 feet to 88.5 feet) contribute to better body rigidity and lighter weight. These updates deliver improved dynamic performance, a smoother ride and a quieter cabin.

Standard on all 2025 Forester models is the latest version of the award-winning EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. The latest version of the EyeSight system operates more smoothly and quickly and under a greater range of conditions than prior versions. These improvements are thanks to a wider field of view, updated control software, and the addition of an electric brake booster. EyeSight can identify cyclists and pedestrians at intersections sooner and, when necessary, alerts the driver and applies braking to avoid collisions. Additional active safety features are available for Forester including Reverse Automatic Braking as well as Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.

For the first time on a Subaru, Emergency Stop Assist activates if the driver becomes unresponsive to warnings while using Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control. The new standard safety feature will stop the vehicle, activate the hazard lights, and unlock the doors. SUBARU STARLINK® Connected Services will then place a call to emergency services.

Standard across the model line is a Rear Seat Reminder that helps prevent child and pet entrapment by alerting the driver to check the rear seat before exiting the vehicle.

Automatic Emergency Steering is included on models equipped with Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Keep Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. This safety feature works with EyeSight and Blind-Spot Detection to assist with steering control to help avoid a collision within a lane at speeds slower than 50 mph.

For enhanced all-around situational awareness while parking, an available Surround View Monitor offers a 360-degree overhead view of the vehicle and its surroundings. The system combines images from four vehicle cameras to create a single image with a bird's-eye view of the area around the entire vehicle.

The DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System is standard on Touring trim. The feature utilizes a camera angled at the driver's face and facial recognition software to monitor fatigue or lack of attention.

Since its introduction in 1997, this iconic SUV has received numerous safety awards from trusted organizations including the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA). The outgoing Forester received the 2023 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK award. This marks the 17th consecutive year Forester has earned an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK (2007-2023) - more than any other small SUV. In addition, the outgoing Forester received the highest possible rating for front crash prevention from IIHS. The prior Forester also earned top marks with a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the NHTSA. Subaru anticipates the all-new 2025 Forester will continue to deliver exemplary safety performance.

Capability and Versatility

The all-new 2025 Subaru Forester was designed to combine the capability and versatility of a large SUV with the comfort and efficiency of a car. The 8.7-inch ground clearance for all Forester models is taller than many SUVs, yet it maintains a comfortably low step-in height for both front- and rear-passenger entry.

Standard across the model line is a revised Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system with a faster response time, more agile handling, and better control both on- and off-road. Standard on Forester Premium is driver-selectable X-MODE with Hill Descent Control, which maximizes wheel control on slippery surfaces and steep inclines. Forester Sport and higher trim levels upgrade to dual-function X-MODE for increased capability in a wider range of adverse conditions. All models feature Incline Start Assist, which briefly holds the vehicle while the driver pulls away from a stop on a hill.

The versatile Forester features 60:40-split folding rear seatbacks. With both seatbacks down, the cargo area offers 74.4 cubic feet of useable space. The wide rear gate opening with low liftover height allows easy loading and unloading. Standard roof rails add more cargo-carrying options for adventures.

Performance and Handling

All 2025 Forester trim levels come standard with a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® engine delivering 180 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. Standard on all Forester models is a Lineartronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with smoother and quieter performance. The Premium, Sport, Limited and Touring trims feature a manual mode with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for the driver to control the transmission via eight preset ratios.

The SUV's drivetrain is further enhanced with standard Active Torque Vectoring and SI-Drive performance management system. The Base and Premium come standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, the Limited is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, and the Sport and Touring upgrade to 19-inch alloy wheels.

The 2025 Subaru Forester's steering is enhanced with a version of the WRX's dual-pinion electronic power steering rack, providing a more direct and natural steering feel and greater responsiveness.

Comfort and Convenience

The cabin also benefits from an enhanced focus on the passengers and their interaction with the vehicle. The Forester offers ample head and leg room, and a more supportive front seat design increases overall comfort and minimizes fatigue. The front seats also feature slimmed-down shoulder areas for better visibility and access to the rear seats. With a concentrated effort on sound dampening, the all-new SUV has a quieter and more comfortable cabin including approximately 39% reduction in rate of noise attenuation from the roof panel.

The vehicle's climate control system has been updated to focus on occupied seats (vs. entire cabin) for improved comfort and fuel economy. Dual-zone heating/cooling control is standard across the model line.

Available for the first time on a Subaru model, a new kick sensor-activated Hands-Free Power Rear Gate enables owners to open and close the rear gate automatically simply by placing their foot under the rear bumper cover.

All trim levels feature a comprehensive list of standard features including Remote Keyless Access; Tire Pressure Monitoring System with Individual Wheel Display; Steering Responsive LED Headlights with Automatic High Beam; Welcome Lighting; and power door locks, windows and side mirrors.

Additional available comfort features include a wireless phone charger in the center console and an all-weather package with heated seats, mirrors and wipers. The Touring trim now comes equipped with ventilated front seats.

New standard heavy-duty utility hooks in the rear cargo area offer a wider range of solutions for hanging points, lifestyle accessories and more. There are a total of eight locations, three on each side of the cargo space and two on the rear gate.

Looks pretty good, IMO.
Shame it's still saddled with the N/A 2.5. Bring back the XT!
I do like the bronze bits on the Sport.

Front grille looks a bit busy (the gloss black helps hide it though) but the interior seems pretty nice.
