The front end style went from odd/ugly to vanilla/boring.
Now it looks like every other CUV.

Not everyone's cup of tea is the understatement of the year. This refresh along with the new more powerful Boxer6 should really help sales.
Although its overpriced to begin with IMO.

Recall
Subaru has issued a recall for 1,585 2010 Subaru Tribecas for mispositioned door latches. Apparently, during production some door latch cables were installed improperly, so that when the window is rolled down the cable might catch in the door glass regulator, and that will open the door. The recall has begun and Subaru dealers will fix both latches for free. If you are one of the affected, you can find the full report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after the jump.

Rip
Subaru Tribeca crossover production is to be cancelled by the end of 2012, our Japanese correspondent Peter Lyon is reporting, citing a source close to the automaker. 1st released in 2005, the original B9 Tribeca met with half-baked reviews as seen in our July 2007 review, in which we said, “1 name too many. Good looks too few. A 3.0-liter engine in a 3.5- to 4.0-liter world.”
Even the quick grille redesign and more powerful 3.6-liter 256-hp and 247 lb-ft of torque F-6 engine replacement in the 2007 face-lifted model was not enough to attract significant buyer numbers to showrooms. Sales fell from 10,975 units in 2008 to 5930 in 2009 and just 2472 in 2010. Last year, the Tribeca rebounded slightly, with 2791 units sold. By contrast, Toyota sold over 92,000 Highlanders in that same year. “I’m amazed the Tribeca has lasted this long,” says our source.
When contacted for an official on-the-record comment, a Subaru spokesman responded, “No, Tribeca is not dead, and will be on sale for the 2013 model year.” Beyond the 2013 model year, though, the Subaru representative wouldn’t comment.
Despite the official Subaru line, our insider suggests that as gas prices rise, it has become harder over the past 2 years for company bosses to justify the heavy Tribeca’s position in the Subaru lineup. With a 5-speed automatic transmission and the flat-6 engine, the 2012 Subaru Tribeca is EPA-rated at 16/21 mpg city/highway.
“This average-looking gas-guzzler is no longer economically viable,” says our source, who also reveals the thinking behind the cancellation decision. Bosses feel that the other 3 models, namely the Outback, Legacy, and the soon-to-be-launched new Forester will more than adequately fill the (small) void left by the aging, 3-row SUV. The new XV Crosstrek should also help cover the potential sales losses from discontinuing the Tribeca. That of course means that there will be no successor. Adios Tribeca.

For some reason I thought they killed this thing a year or two ago....go figure.
Always liked the interior.

thought they already discontinued this...they must have heavily limited sales.
thats what they get for "SUV"-izing the Outback. that thing is a GREAT utility vehicle at a great price, and fantastic mileage. grrrreat success. think they should discontinue the forester before the tribeca. but one of those lesmobiles has gotta go.

I'm the Firestarter
I really want to know how they ever justified calling it the "B9 Tribeca". I'd love to talk to the marketing guy who came up with that. Why a letter, a number AND a name?
