Thumbs up Status of Check Engine Light and Memory Seat Fixes, good news and ok news

My service manager just called today, with some updates on the Check Engine light and Memory settings for the seats/mirrors

1. He said they just received a service bulletin today on the Check Engine Light coming on. This is specifically for cars that register a code of engine cylinder misfire!

Acura found that the computer parameters for the engine misfire had too tight a tolerance, which has been corrected in the programming. Cars with this issue need the new computer program uploaded into the car.

This is a simple software only fix and confirms some other previous posts by others and is now in a service bulletin so all dealers should be able to access this.

2. For the Memory Seats, the regional sent a reminder letter that Acura is still working on a fix, and when resolved, the DPSM module will be replaced with the updated version. No repairs are authorized until the new DPSM module becomes available shortly (this was the time frame indicated by the regional).

-----------

I will say that my dealer has been keeping on top of the issues for me, and have been very helpful.

I guess you haven't noticed, the memory setings disappear periodically, not every day or every week, but I have lost mine about a dozen times over the last 2 months.

if you check other boards such as vtec, or a-tl you will see many complaints on this.

Acura corp. is aware and working on a fix. Slight glitch in the system.
