Spy Shots: '06 VW GTI
Volkswagen's hot Golf GTI was caught this week, four months before its anticipated introduction at the Paris Motor Show.
Looking much like the GTI concept previously shown, the production GTI is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 200 horsepower.
The GTI, sporting a huge front air dam, unique side skirts, dual stainless exhaust pipes, and 18-inch alloy wheels, is expected to reach showrooms early next year.

I went to a Subaru/VW dealer a few weeks ago with my friend to purchase a WRX. The dealer said they sold a total of 1 R32 and there are 5 more sitting at the lot. The person that bought the only one paid $4000 above MSRP. This might be a bad place to sell these since it's sandwiched between the WRX and STi. Nevertheless, it's a good car, but not much on the road.

They are comparing a N/A 6 vs turbocharged 4's. For the engine of choice in the VW, it is pretty impressive. Who knows, in the future they may decide to go with forced induction on the R32. I think people are comparing this car to the EVO and STi because of the normal VW GTI customer. They are a younger crowd that tends to lean towards modding their car for performance. In stock form it may be a bit slower, but it sure looks a WHOLE lot better. I have seen many around town. VERY nice looking car.
