Lightbulb Sneak preview..BMW 2 series and M2

Well Guys I just received my latest issue of Automobile Mag. and smack on the cover is a beautiful picture of what BMW is coming out with by late or mid 05,a 2 series and an M2. Like it or not....here's the real competition. This car will be aimed at the same market as the TSX and it looks so nice. Kinda makes me want to wait till they come out before I go TSX shopping this summer. Just wait till you guys see this car! Engine line up is iffy right now with a couple of in -line 4's at first but the M will be a real cooker. Here we go again.

That thing will be the size of a Civic and it's still not given it will ever make it to the US. If anything it will compete with the RSX.

2-series is the best looking car in BMW's upcoming lineup, IMHO. I hope that M2 makes it to the US.

I agree with you, but I am wondering do they need these many cars in their lineup? Especially, if some of the priced on the 1-series, 2-series, and 3-series overlap?

The 4 series will the coupe.

So, from what I hear, the coupes and the sedans will get individual numerics, hence...

1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7 series, plus their X3 and X5.

Like I said in the other thread, the biggest concern for me is that BMW is stretching their production capacity way too fast.

Junkster, who hopes the remodels after these will be 'de-bangles'.

Thumbs down

2 series maybe will compete on price, but it won't compete against TSX unless it's the same size as the 3 series. I think the 2 series is going after the GTI and the Mini-Cooper. (Yeah I know).

Unless it gets bigger, the 3 series only competes with the TSX at the low end of the series on price. It's a compact car the size of a Civic/Corolla. The 1 series is even smaller - assuming that it, along with the 2 series ever make it to the US. The main reason for the 1 series is to compete with the Audi A3 and A class MB neither of which will probably make it to the US. They are luxury sub-compact class cars. A bit of an oxymoron is you ask me.
