http://www.scion.com/drive/features/..._features.html

Standard features on the Scion tC are ridiculously good for such an inexpensive car .. and Scion says you can order a la-carte too.

Wonder how much the TRD S/C kit is going to be ...

This car looked very nice in person at the auto show. I'm not a fan of the other two Scion models, but I like this one.

if that thing sells like i could imagine it selling, it could be the thing that solidifies this company as a winner. unless GM has something up their sleeve theyd better go coffin shopping for Saturn.

Has anyone seen options pricing for the Tc yet?

The TRD S/C package for the Solara was about $2500 so I can't imagine it's more than that for the Tc. I'm guessing a Tc with the S/C installed will be around $20k

I don't think any company wants to imitate Nissans under 20k products.

Or their industry worst interiors. This 16k car has a better interior than the 30k+ Altima, Maxima and 350Z, Quest, Murano, the list goes on and on and on.....

Anyway, this car is so solid, glad to see another coupe, no matter who makes it.

I dunno that there will be ... If Scion is selling at a fixed price (no haggling) then I can't see that they'll allow dealers to jack up the prices.

You're right though, we'll see

The only thing about this car is that it's going to be built like a tank. 2925lbs IIRC.

That's a lot of heft for 160hp. Mini Cooper S has a curb weight of about 2700lbs. The Tc is going to need that S/C just to break into the high sixes ...

My guess is the Tc does 0-60 in 8.4, 1/4 in 16.2@85mph

That's an asstimate

I don't think people are gonna try to make this car a drag racer. It will be a good looking, feature packed, aftermarket supported cheap coupe.

with the trd supercharger, supposedly the 200 hp will be to the wheels. If this little bugger has the supercharger and soem suspension work it would be awesome. Imagine dropping a pulley and doing some fuel upgrades, that car would be a little monster. I still think the best bang for 20k is the SRT-4. Yeah its just a neon, but a neon that could kill a 350z, g35c, rx-8, cl-s, 04 tl and many many other cars. Most of us wont be caught dead in it, but most of us would be ashamed when the 16 year old next to us can kick our asses.

Exactly. This is gonna be a great little coupe, but I think people are reading a little to much into it's potential. And that's not to say it can't be a great little coupe to fling around after some mods, but damn. This isn't some kind of Supra lite.

I think it will be a 'tuners' car, because its a coupe that actually has power from the factory, yet still can be had for under 20k. Its a shame it weighs so much(jetta sedan specs), but 200hp/2900's should be low 15's which is competitive@18k. Hopefully this pushes honda to drop the 200hp k-series in the 05 civic coupe or sedan, either way it would be hot.

200 to the crank. I am sure with diff pulley's and more boost, it can get to 230hp easy. No SRT-4 though.

I wonder, low 7 sec or high 6 sec car?

IMO people should jump on this crazy HP out of little cars craze because once enough 16yr olds wrap their lives around stop signs they will stop making them. Track cars, they'd be great...in a straight line. I think they did this with the Mustang SVO. Too many people flipped them. This isn't going to last forever. The AWD cars might last a bit longer but I have seen and heard too much about STi and EVOs wiping out. Sorry....engine tech is great right now as far as mpg vs. hp but people are going to die.

Wow, this car is very tempting as a cool little commuter car. The front totally reminds me of the last gen. Skyline.

When I was in panama I met some guys on the Scion tour and got a brochure. Its got 159hp and 163ldft of torque. The thing is thatthe bore and stroke for this 4cyl is huge: 88x93.

It doesn't seem to be as small as I thought. Was comparing it to the accord coupe and its slightly larger yet weighs ~100lbs less so its not bad. If the interior dimensions are bigger this may even be a better buy than the 4cyl solara or accord coupes.

Scion Tc

To go on sale at the end of June.

www.scion.com

Not a bad little car, its grown on me. Option for it sucks at the moment. Not a bad commuter, or first time car for someone.

Scion Tc : 160 hp
Civic EX Coupe : 127 hp
Civic Si : 160 hp
Base RSX : 160 hp

I hope this is a wake up call for Honda to add some more "zip" into their small car lineup....

(Pssst! Honda! Where is the 200 hp Civic Type R??? )

I hardly think Toyota has set the bar here, they will be lucky if they last a year with these specs, the 05 civic will surely pass this, let alone the new sentra. The car is average. Its nice because most companies don't have coupes under 20k, right now.

this thing comes with 17" rims, mp3 player, mb style mirrors and a big sunroof standard. honda couldnt even put 16" wheels and not even 130hp for a civic EX which costs as much if not more when optioned out.
